One of the better places to live.

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
First off, this was my first apartment in over ten years in metro ATL, and I had way less than good credit at the time thanks to a psycho ex.
Anyway, I had a Highland unit which is on the 3rd floor. The unit I rented had a fireplace and a garage which was accessed through the laundry room of which size would make any $200,000 north ATL homeowner envious. Room, room, room! Also, the amount of windows and especially the kitchen bay windows allowed so much light in that I hardly needed any lights on during a bright sunny day (there's a downfall to that explained below).
The construction quality was great (doors closed with a "thuwhump" instead of a "bam-rattle"), the storage space was great (in that unit anyway), and the windows around made it feel more like a home or townhome than your typical little-sunlight apartment in the metro area. Also, the bathrooms are very generous in space and the garden tubs
are the bomb. Let's also not forget that this is not some 15-20 year old apartment complex that's had an exterior facelift. This place's construction is quality for sure. I'm not sure how old it is, but it can't be more than seven to ten years old... quite new for the location.
There were a few problems however. First, the insulation was not as great as I had expected. My electricity bill skyrocketed in the summer (no doubt due in large part to two units below me cooking or whatever), and the place was cold in the winter (due to all the windows). Second, getting out of the complex in the rush-hour morning was a nightmare. Third, parking can be a problem if you don't have a garage unit or assigned covered parking, but what apartment complex *doesn't* have that problem'
That said, I am looking to rent there again after renting a townhome for a year which cost more money for little more benefits. The rather minor nuances at this place don't come close to compromising all the advantages.
Finally, management was good during my stay and gave me my $965 deposit back in a timely manner (had to pay a large sum up front due to poor credit... keep that in mind).
