Serious Problems -- Including Rat Infestations

When we first moved into The Preserve in 2003, we loved it. It was great and the office staff was lovely. However, in the last 2 years or so, the place really went downhill, and we decided to move out rather than renew.
The worst problem by far, and what caused us to leave as soon as our lease was up this year was that our air conditioner vents in our entire building (building 35000, btw) was infested with RATS -- repeatedly. They would send the pest control company out but they never were able to permanently fix the problem. When I was FINALLY able to reach the manager after literally WEEKS of calls and messages, he actually shouted at me and basically told me that the problem was not repairable and to stop bothering him because there was nothing he could do.
If that's not enough to change your mind, keep reading.
The complex is dirty and run-down and no one ever picks up after their pets -- on a warm day you won't even be able to open your windows because of the dog poo stench. The trash compactors are overloaded and often out-of-order, the gates are always broken, and the office staff has a collective IQ of about 17. Dealing with any of them (other than Eric or Michael) is enough to make you want to bang your head against the wall.
The walls are really thin and the insulation is almost non-existent. This is not a problem if you have decent neighbors -- which is unlikely with the clientele they are letting in lately. And don't expect any help from the office if you have a complaint about a neighbor. Also, your heating and cooling bills will be exorbitant because of the poor insulation.
Parking is a nightmare. The spaces are really tight so you can expect a lot of dings and dents. If you get home after 5:00 you can forget about parking anywhere near your building.
Up until this year, when we bought a house, we've lived in various apartments over the course of 10 years -- long enough for me to know that apartment living leaves a lot to be desired. I know there are problems even in the best places. I have to say, though, that over the course of the past few years, The Preserve has become the WORST place I've ever lived.

Hey it's Eric from the office- I'm here five days a week for the last seven years and I have never once heard about this so the rat story which is therefore not even remotely possible. If your entire buidling were infested I'd know about it. Also the property is beautiful and the grounds well kept according to everyone I show it to. Where exactly is an apartment community with wide parking spaces? There is always parking in the 34000 building- the building next to you.
