My daughter and I have lived at The Preserve since 2007. The primary attraction was the location of the community, gated entry and the overall aesthetics of the grounds and apartments themselves. My daughter and I love the layout of our apartment as well as the three pools in the summer. The gym is very nice and I wish I could use it more often. Overall, for an apartment community, it's a nice place to be.
The main drawback for us is the noise levels. There is very little insulation between floors. I never hear neighbors next to me but I can hear EVERYTHING above and below me. This might be less of a problem if you rent a 3rd floor unit. And this won't be a problem at all if you have quiet neighbors. Unfortunately we haven't been as lucky...we've been through those who party all night above us, neighbors who allow their dogs to bark non-stop (mostly because no one is home) at all hours of the night, screaming newborns to now a family above us with two very rowdy small children. We've had talks with the neighbors and they really do try to do their best. It's just difficult when the barrier between floors is as thin as it is. I wish I had known this when considering our move. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect apt. living to be silent - it is what it is - but I have lived in other apt. communities and never had the same problems with noise. It's a disappointing drawback to what is otherwise a beautiful community.
P.S. I'm hoping the entrance gates at the main entry will be fixed soon. They've been broken for several weeks now. :-(

I agree with what you said. To make matters worse, the guy who DROVE THROUGH the gates and destroyed the right-side gates lives in our building (white Dodge).
My neighbors above me are normal, working people but apparently the floors are too thin.
Also, parking lots were not designed well. Several people have to park in an ajacent lot as there isn't sufficient space in front of their building (including mine).
