I lived at Beechwood Pines for a year, and thought it was a completely decent place to live. The office staff was always nice and even said hello to me by name when they saw me outside. The maintenance staff is great, they were ALWAYS QUICK to help with any problems and I constantly saw them out and about on the property working. The pool was nice, only crowded on Saturday's in the summer. The gym is alright - the few pieces of equipment are often broken. But the pool, gym, and all the grounds were usually kept clean. The gates were constantly broken and the dumpster was often overflowing. Not so great to have a pile of hot garbage right at the entry of the complex. My only real complaint is the dog POOP. It was everywhere! But I don't think this is the staff's problem, I think it's 100% tenants responsibility to clean up after their dog if it poops on the sidewalk ... or the stairs, even if it means getting your own bag to take care of it. Parking was never an issue for us, and the parking lots were well lit and I never felt unsafe.
The inside of our apartment was nice, no problems at all. I didn't like the fact that there were no overhead lights in the living room or the bedrooms. I was told that this was so we could pick out our own light fixtures. Thanks. So we had to buy our own light fixtures and extra lamps when we moved in. Kind of silly to me, but the maintenance crew installed and uninstalled our ceilings fans for us.
We didn't have many problems with noise, but we were on the top floor, so nobody to worry about above us. Our neighbors had a dog that was left alone a lot and liked to bark all through the evening. And be prepared to hear the dumpsters from Beechwood being emptied and smashed back on the concrete in the early hours of the morning.
Beechwood Pines comes with its quirks, but I've never had an apartment that didn't. It's so close to everything in town and the property is clean and safe ... and it really is a good place to live.
