**Management worked with me to resolve some lease-related issues.** Thanks Chateau Club.
---------------------------------------------- Club was built, I think, in the seventies, so it's pretty old. Let me start off by naming all of the bad things about Chateau Club (and I warn you, there are many).
The laundry rooms are God-Awful (washers and driers barely work and they still charge you a dollar per use). I agree with another reviewer when he/she states it seems like a dungeon in there.
The water pipes have issues because black stuff accumulates after several weeks all over the tub and shower curtain.
The cable interenet wires are extremely old and instead of each apartment having it's own connection, they wired the entire building into two outlet things outside the building, so you're lucky if you get a signal strong enough to access cable internet. I'd say my internet is up 80% of the time, with random signal loss every now and then (but when it does go out, it's a royal pain because it takes the cable company 4-5 days to get out to try and boost the signal just enough to get it working again). Expanded basic cable television works fine, but I wouldn't be so sure of digital.
When I moved in several months ago bugs were a huge problem. We had ants everywhere in one of our bedrooms, and roaches are everywhere outside on the sidewalk as you walk into the building. They sit there and brood, and scurry away as you walk inside (this really disturbs me). Haven't had many problems with bugs currently, but there is a roach / spider every few days.
The management staff is pretty unprofessional. One woman in particular acts like she's doing you a favor by answering your questions or by assiting you in any way.
There are a few positives about Chateau Club:
They are good about putting in new carpet and repairing / replacing any broken appliances (they replaced our old refridgerator with a very new looking one when we moved in).
We got a good deal when we moved in and are currently paying what is probably the cheapest rent in Athens.
They recently re-painted the parking lot.
There's a pool, although I've never been to it because it seems dirty. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if it has water in it.
The maintenance men generally come out if you stay on them about it (this is reality for many complexes). The environment is, for the most part, pretty calm and laid back (from what I hear, it wasn't like this a year ago before new company took over - lots of drugs and even shootings).
I'm a male college student, and I feel relatively safe here. However, I wouldn't recommend this place for a female living alone.
If you can afford to live somewhere else, live somewhere else. This place is definitely one of the worst in Athens, but when you put it into perspective it's not so bad. Just think of how people live in third-world countries. They'd see Chateau Club as heaven!

It has been taken over my new management. The staff is very professional and happy to help you. The washer and dryers work very well and the room are well lit. Mold and mildew is not a problem all the tubs are updated. We do not have a bug problem and pest control comes out once a week. The cable company comes out the next day if not the same day you call them.
