My first impression of Lakeside was fantastic. The model apartment is well-decorated, clean, and cozy. The management seems friendly and kind, and the pool area is great. So I signed the lease and moved in.
Then reality struck. First of all- the kitchen appliances. Two of the stove's heating units did not work. I suspect the fridge was a remnant of the industrial revolution, circa 1785. The kitchen floor had not been cleaned so the first time I stepped on it, my sock got stuck to the floor and I had to tug at it for 5 minutes before it came unstuck. Second- the bugs. When we first moved in, three roaches, each the size of a small puppy, were roaming the living room. We killed them and didn't think much of it until more and more and more roaches kept popping out of various places in the apartment.
The tub is so old it has lost its white color and is now a shade of pink/gray. Sometimes brown water comes out of the faucet.
Some of the places that offer a higher quality of life than Lakeside include:
- North Korea
- an Amsterdam brothel
- the storage facility of a meat-packing plant
- a Waffle House restroom

Haha this review made me laugh!! ... and glad that I didn't sign a lease for Lakeside- was really close though!
