I lived in Laurel Oaks last year and it did not make my first apartment experience very enjoyable. On the very first day I moved in, the owners did not even have my key ready. The landlord promised she would have 2 copies made (one for me and one for my roomate) the day we moved in. Nope. When I arrived, the office was not open, forcing me and my family to wait outside for an hour until someone finally showed up. Then the landlord ran all over the place trying to make me a key last minute.

There was also an unfortunate event with my roomates toilet. It overflowed one night (due to terrible sewage) and it filled her bathroom and room, the hallway, and into my bedroom. When we called a plumber at 2am, he fixed the problem after our maintenance staff NEVER showed. After putting the cost of the incident on her credit card, Laurel Oaks did not refund her the money until she took the incident to court.

The walls are thin, a lot of the appliances are broken and out of date, the parking lot needs to be paved and the laundry room and excercise room are filthy. I saw a woman by the pool who let her children swim naked and walk around naked for a good 10 minutes. It is not a good atmosphere for students--or anyone for that matter.

The staff is extremely unfriendly and rude.
