You have no idea how BAD this apartment complex really is! At first they lure you in with promises of a nice facility at a low cost, and they are very friendly, polite, and helpful. Once you've signed that lease though, your soul is their's. First of all, I do not feel safe here at all. Not only are you harassed at all hours of the night by crackheads asking for spare cash, but you have mysterious strangers knocking on your door who look very shady. Oh yeah, and did I mention their free-of-charge pets they provide you with' There are cockroaches the size of small puppies popping out all over the place! AND IT'S NOT EVEN WARM WEATHER YET! I threw a shoe at one, only to have it tossed back maliciously! (I exaggerate, but you should see the size of these things!) Don't worry about going to the office...they are incompetent and act like your complaints are an inconvenience. I think we've seen maintenance three times, and that was only because it was an emergency water leak. If it's anything beyond "emergency", don't bother, because they won't. The water comes out a funky color and when we complained to the office, they simply said, "That happens". Umm...I'd rather it NOT happen, so we bought a water filter. Doesn't help in the shower though. I feel dirtier when I get out than I did when I got in. Oh, and don't get me started about "security"...they won't help you out when you have a real problem, but like to harass you about the stupidest of things at all hours of the night. For god sake's, do not sit on your patio and drink a beer if you APPEAR to be under-aged. Normally I wouldn't even bother with a review, but people deserve to know that this place is skanky and you'd be better off just paying a few bucks more to live elsewhere. I CANNOT wait until my lease is up!

Really.... I live here and my water is not brown. If your water is still brown maybe you should call the CITY OF ATHENS WATER BUSINESS OFFICE. They are the ones to call if your water is brown. It has to do with construction in the East Side area. Oh - and the DROUGHT. Also, you know they have weekly pest control? All you have to do is call the office and get your name on the list. If I ever see any bugs I call them. Maybe you should as well.

Hmm how is that possible everyone at Laurel Oaks is on the same water system, so there is no way that you do not have red water. Then you blame it on construction and the drought. Yet no one else in Athens has the red water of death but Laurel Oaks. This sounds like someone from Laurel Oaks management posted this response. Stop trying to make this hell hole sound like heaven. LAUREL OAKS SHOULD BE RAZED

i don't know how it is possible. You figure it out. None of my neighbors have red water either. i think maybe if you took a little time to figure it out you'd realize that someone besides the office staff is incompetent.

i live here at laurel oaks and the water is filthy, i do have a water filter on the sink but the red water stains i agree with the person who left the comment above, and the other comments. Don't live here. I move out in the next couple of months and couldn't be happier.
