The apartments are large, but that?s about the only thing going for this place. We had two different sets of people live below us and they were extremely noisy. The first tenants were very loud college students who had a major party, on a late Thursday/early Friday morning, the night they moved in. They were eventually evicted but then our second tenant below us was not much better. He was a drunken/stoned out security guard (with a gun no less)who constantly blasted music, fought with his girlfriend/wife, and even kicked his dog (who barked frequently). When we moved in in 2001, we were told it was a "professional" community. The management changed and then MANY people moved out (they must have known something we didn?t). The "gate" was a joke. There was no arm, so all you had to do was follow someone in. No security at all. We lived there a few months and had two people walk into our apartment when one of us went to walk the dog. They were obviously there to steal something. There are stores and a bus route a mile away, but no sidewalks to walk there. Oh yeah, and for some reason people like to park in the very limited handicapped spots AND can?t walk the 3.5 minutes MAX to the pool (they literally DRIVE there and crowd the area around the office with their cars). Very weird. Considering this is the most expensive apartment community in Athens, a relatively cheap area, it would probably be more worth it to rent a house someplace.

After I wrote this, someone posted an absolutely glowing review (I wouldn't be surprised if it was the management)...so this part is an update. I don't know what constitutes "luxury;" I suppose the complex is luxury for Athens, but not in the real world. Also, please don't be deceived by the "gated" community part. The gates are WORTHLESS. There is a mixture of "serious" students and not very serious, professionals and I suppose inebriated/loud professionals. Also, the military people in my building were some of the most obnoxious/loud/drunken residents. Athens itself is not a very safe community; the fact that the complex is (apparently) in one of the safest parts doesn't quell my concern. Also, people have problems picking up after their dogs, the red ants were horrible, and I didn't really find the apartments all that well-insulated. When we moved in, we weren't allowed to see our acutal apartment, even though it was empty. They assured us it would be clean, which it wasn't...the rugs were very dirty. As is typical with most apartment communities, though, the model looked spectacular but the actual apartment did not. Unlike a previous post, management didn't know MY name; how could they...the place is huge. On the flip side, I did get my deposit back. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
