I moved here from the OLD Abbey, now the Reserve, which was a nightmare. Legacy Mill was bliss compared to that. There were no beer bottles strewn across the parking lot and people actually went to bed at night and got up in the morning. Although the insulation of the apts is not great, this was not a major problem as most of our neighbors were quiet and considerate.
We did have problems with the old management
(Trammell Crow), they basically lied to me about when our apt would be available. After assurring us that they had a 3 bed available, they found out that the residents were not moving out, did not tell us, so we had to take a 2-bed and have someone sleep in the dining room! However, they did give us some rent and utility concessions, but it was a lot of stress for us. While I was there the management changed and now they are somewhat better. Most of our problems were delt with quickly. Often the gate did stay open, because they had continual problems with it being struck by lightning and jamming. The answering service was hopeless the one time I had to call them and the maintenance guy seemed mentally challenged and could not fix anything!
Overall though, I loved living here and so far it has been the best apt complex I have lived at in Athens.We chose this over Timothy Woods as it is newer and more spacious. Beware of T.Woods, we applied there and then rescinded before they could offer us an apt because they had not let us know within a pre-agreed time frame, and they would not return the $300 security deposit. The manager was a B**** , did not return phone calls , had her staff LIE about not being in the office, yelled at me, called me a liar, and eventually only gave us $200 back after I called her employers Colonial Properties. Legacy Mill was much nicer!
