the new neighbors moved in upstairs. Word to the wise... don't live in apartment #9103 unless you don't like to sleep. Multiple (polite) complaints to the management were futile, so I can't really advocate being polite since you're going to get the same results anyway. Granted, the staff was polite, but that doesn't make up for being ineffective at resolving noise complaints. The most gracious offer they made was to allow me to pay a transfer fee (plus all the other expenses associated w/ moving... utilties, moving van, etc.) to move myself into another apartment unit, with no guarantee that it would be any better. The end result was that I had to break the lease that I had just renewed for another year, costing me an extra $1,000.

If you do plan on moving to this place, ask to see a list of noise complaints in your building, since they track the complaints. Why they track them, I'm unsure, since they don't do anything about it. Also wouldn't hurt to ask how many people have been evicted due to noise in the past 12 months, and I'd be shocked if the answer was anything but 'zero'. Also ask how many people have moved out in order to escape the noise. That answer will NOT be 'zero'. Regardless, if it's too noisy for you and you want peace in quiet, be ready to fork over $1,000 when you can't get any resolution.
