I LOVE this place! I am a female doctoral student at the Univ. of Georgia. Since my life revolves around reading and writing, I needed a safe and quiet place to come home to. These are a few of the things I love about living here:
- Neighbors are very friendly, yet keep their distance when appropriate. I often feel as though the neighbors look out for each other (in a good way!)
- Garages are available and priced at $40-60 per month - I have one and feel quite spoiled for not having to scrape the ice off my windshield during the winter :)
- Legacy Mill is very pet friendly -- they always have dog cookies in the main office and poop stations (complete with great poo baggies) are sprinkled throughout the grounds. Dogs are just as friendly and the neighbors -- my dog is friends with most of the other dogs in my building.
- If you are a UGA employee (graduate students with university assistantships included!), you get $25 off your monthly rent!
- Office staff often have special events for residents. A great example: One morning, the staff (including office and maintenance staff) set up tables at both of the exit gates to hand out breakfast for all the residents as they drove off to work. Breakfast included a muffin, granola bar, juice, and a sweet note wishing everyone a great day.
- Location, location, location! Although it is about a 10 minute drive to the university, it's so nice to live on a picturesque road away from all the mayhem of college life! This apartment complex is right on the edge of Clarke county and Oconee county. If you're not from around here, Oconee county is considered MUCH nicer, safer, etc. than Clarke county.
-- Also related to location is the proximity to everything you need within 2 miles: gas stations, grocery stores(Publix and Krogger), Walmart, Target, Georgia Square Mall, Starbucks (2 of them!), Lowes, Barnes and Noble.....
I cannot brag enough about how much I love living here! I highly recommend Legacy Mill. The price may seem a little expensive when compared to other places in Athens, but it is very reasonably priced when compared to other high-end apartments around the country.
