Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2005
I lived in Rivermill for 3 years after living in the dorms for my freshman year of college. The office staff was always super nice, and the maintenance men took care of our requests the same day they were made every time. Yes, the apartments are a little older than some of the other complexes in Athens, but as a college student, particularly one coming from the dorms, I wasn't really expecting to live in some luxurious, upscale suite. My roommate and I made our apartment very cozy with decorations and wall paint. For those complaining about the outdated apartment style, that's one aspect that is plainly evident before someone moves in, so perhaps they should have just not signed the lease if aesthetic appeal was that important to them. As far as noise goes, there is a security guard on-site, and one call to him has always put an end to any loudness. Rent isn't really higher than other places, considering that water and cable is included, and if that isn't enough, the location is *definitely* worth paying for. Nothing is better than leaving your apartment ten minutes before class starts and getting there with time to spare.
