Spent three years at Tara, and seemed fine for the first year or so.

Every summer the air conditioner couldn't keep up with the outside temp, and the inside temp would stay in the upper 80's during the day. I spoke w/ one of the maintenance men (who actually seems concerned with getting things fixed) about it and he said the insulation is so thin that it doesn't do a bit of good, and that he's tried to tell them to put more up there.

The heat thermostat would never run for more than a couple minutes at a time. It cut on ... it cut off.... it cut on.... it cut off... This past winter, the fan would just groan and about quit (sometimes it would quit) but I had some heat for the most part. I put in a maintenance request, They came out and said nothing was wrong... took a couple visits before I got them to finally see it was broke. But "I've got renters with no heat so I have to take care of them first" well, when they finally did come fix it, they broke it completely. Then I had no heat for a couple months. I had to buy a portable heater and electric blanket. They would come by and change out one part and then when that didn't work they'd come a few days later and change another... finally they changed the whole works and I finally got heat... about the time I no longer needed heat.

This was the same maintenance guy that they sent out letters to all the tenants saying they had a new guy, drop in w/ any maintenance requests. And less than a year later, he disappeared.

Of the maintainence requests I had to turn in over the years, almost all of them were HVAC related.

The kitchen floor was slowly sagging... one of the lower cabinets ripped off the wall where it was sagging so far in the front.

The lights blown out in the common areas don't get replaced (even if you turn in a maintenance request) and it gets very dark at night

I read in the A.B.H. about 3 break-ins in the same weekend at Tara, when I asked about it in the front office, the first person didn't seem to know much... then a 2nd person said "it happens this time of year, the police came by and said that we're [meaning Tara] doing all we should"

On the final walkthru she said that only problem was the carpet was dirty, I was charged for that ($65 "Damages") and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen ($70) however.
