From the outside, the apartments look fairly decent. Theyre 4BD/4BR, which is always nice, especially for that price. The landscape is well-groomed, and the buildings (on the front) are nicely kept. However, the back and inside are different stories. The back of the buildings are full of trash from the other tenants, and not much is done to keep it clean. The inside isnt a thing of beauty either. Apparently, management bought in quantity and not quality. It is decent, but you can tell its cheap. The microwave took three times the normal time to make the food even lukewarm. The dishwasher was falling apart and didnt do a great job to clean the dishes. Youre better off cleaning them by hand (because youre going to have to anyway). The refrigerator was small; it wasnt enough for an apartment with four people living inside. The furniture was decent; it served its purpose well. None of it was broken or terribly damaged. The individual rooms were small but just enough. Youre a college student; how much room do you need' Inside my room, I had a full size bed, the desk, a TV, a mini fridge, a drawer thing for my clothes, and a small table by the bed. Although tight, I still had enough room to walk around. However, the bathroom was the size of a stall (including shower and toilet). It was also really dirty. I found a certain item behind my toilet from the previous tenants (which were female). It was a bit too gross. I had a slug come out of my shower faucet thing; it scared the living crap out of me. The bathroom is really tight and uncomfortable. The sink isnt in the same room as the tub/toilet. The tub isnt sufficient to take baths in. Im 5 foot 3 in.; I dont need much space, but it still was too short for me. The closet doors are metal, heavy, and difficult to move. My door was off the little guide thing, so it was a battle every time. The closet isnt even that big either; its about the size of an old telephone booth (like Superman used). Finally, I just left it open (even though it blocked some of the entrance to the toilet/tub area). The blinds didnt close completely; if youre a nut about privacy, you might want to consider that. Also, our bills were always much higher than they should have been. There were several problems with leaky faucets, toilets not flushing right (you know, when they just never stop flushing themselves'), and showerheads dripping. Not only is this annoying (especially at night when trying to sleep), but the water bill was ridiculous. The AC and heat bills were also really high because the vents didnt vent very well. In the summer, the front rooms would be boiling hot while the back rooms were freezing cold, and in the winter, vice versa. The maintenance guy would respond pretty quickly to miniscule problems. The mailboxes are in a terrible place also. People like to check it from their car, and that did become a problem (you'll understand what I mean when you see it). Thats about it I think. Yeah. Welcome to Aspen.
