I really wish that I could be totall complimentary, but I can't.

The place itself is nicely designed, but I do agree it's rather cheaply constructed. Chunks of concrete wall do fall off and there are a lot of exposed nails in the floor (rusty, I might add).

The management staff is a laugh and a half. They are almost as competent as the Three Stooges. The maintenance workers themselves are nice, but I don't think the message that there's a problem actually reaches them unless you show up in the office in person. Things were better when the property was owned by Stephen Bell, but not by much. I've lived at other Archstone properties and they have similar problems.

As one other reviewer has said, living down the street from Compound, the property does draw its share of partiers who are loud, rude, and don't take care of the common areas. In addition, if you live in the buildings on the same side as Compound-- the orange building and half of the red building-- YOU WILL HEAR THE CLUB THROUGH YOUR WINDOWS. This is especially a problem in the warmer months. Additionally, there are often fights in the street after the club closes down.

One other noise issue is that the pool for the complex is centered between the four buildings in such a way that the noise from below echoes off the buildings. Despite the fact that the pool is supposed to close at 10 pm, there are often yahoos in the summer who get drunk and decide to swim after hours. Silly me, I've sometimes rushed to their aid thinking they were drowning.

Although this is a great location, I'd beware.

Just wondering how the noise from the compound is for the orange building. Can you hear it?
