I've lived at 1660 for going on three years. Ive never experienced the noise of the parking garage mentioned by others, but my apartment is not near the garages. There is "white noise" from the street, but like another mentioned, you get used to it AND what do you expect living in the city'
The location is fabulous: Right in the middle of everything. Brand new grocery store nearby, along with a bookstore within walking distance.
From time to time I have concerns about the "street folk" who live nearby; but I think that is to be expected when living in a downtown area.
The apartments are well-maintained. And, yes, as others have mentioned, the front office staff at times seems clueless at best, at worst downright dumb and ineffective. But I expect that from property managers! I don't usually expect them to be geniuses. I, too, have had a package issue, but they had "filed it on the wrong shelf." Hello!' But they were apologetic. And, in their defense, they are often just little college students who have no idea which end is up -- that is the case everywhere. Whenever I go to the office they are friendly -- offer me coffee or a cookie. They know my name. They make an honest effort to help.
The pool is lovely. There is a great work out room too. On-site ATM is very convenient.
Most people I have met have been friendly: Mostly busy professionals, like me, going about their lives.
The concrete drip mentioned before is a problem. My SUV has taken a few hits too, but in my opinion a small price to pay for the convenience of covered parking.
Overall a nice place to live. I've stayed here for three years and will probably sign on again. It's just worth it to be near everything that is hip and cool about Atlanta.
