Horrible crime and the office refuses to do anything about it. Rents keep getting lowered except for long term residents. Disparity in rent by as much as 300 a month for the same units. Trash and cigarette butts liter the property everywhere and clean up crew seems to ignore the trash. Rude office staff and broken property everywhere (i.e fallen signs, broken gates, cracked walls, I could go on...)

What can be done about crime? I would assume that the office staff are not trained police officers or firefighters. It is the city, you know. The same break ins you see happening at your property is happening at someone else's regardless of demographic, and it can just as easily happen in your home or condo as it would an apt community. I felt the same way you did about management not doing anything to help the crime issue at my property. Then I ran into the worst luck where my car was broken into 3 different times on 3 completely different properties, all of which were top notch, luxury apartments. Cracked walls are a matter of settlement on your property, especially if it has some age to it. And gates? Well, it's another one of those same sh**, different property type of things. Anything electronic that is used a million and one times every single day is bound to have some out of the ordinary wear and tear to it. If you're unhappy though, I can pretty much bet that until you buy, you won't ever be satisfied because the issues you speak of are at EVERY property all over this city. Good Luck!!!!

What a negative way (and also incorrect) position to take. I have also been at 1660 for about a year and have been totally dissatisfied with every aspect of the property. My cabinet drawers are all coming apart, the walls are poorly patched, the dishwasher door sticks closed, and my thermostat has never been fixed after numerous requests resulting in power bills of well over $100/mo for about 800 sq. ft. In addition, I have never had to deal with an office staff as rude and incompetant as the 1660 staff is. You can say that crime is going to be a factor at every in town apartment complex and I'll agree, but to say that the horrendous management of 1660 is acceptable and run of the mill is absolutely insane. It is totally unacceptable and certainly cause for complaint.

Well, in response to your comment that the office staff are not police officers. Well, congratulations Einstein, of course they arent. But with all of the improvements to the business office that no one uses, and the pressure washing of the parking lot and then two weeks later saying that they will probably re-strip it, they could take some of that (our) money and fix the damn gate. Or they could replace the incompetent "courtesy security guard" that they have. We pay $100/yr for security, so they should hire someone other than a homeless idiot that sleeps in his car by the gate most of the time. The two full time employees in the office might as well be non-existent as terrible as they are at customer service. Hey, and if your car has been broken into three times at three places, maybe you should trade that nice car in for something affordable so that you can live somewhere nicer.
