I can understand where some of the comments are coming from, however, I've lived at 1660 for 6 months and have not run into many of the things people are saying. If you keep to yourself and mind the property rules, you shouldn't have any problems.
The only problems my fiance and I have had were that there was a tenant below us who was doing something very smelly that in turn smelled up our apartment. We notified the leasing staff and they took care of the problem right away. They moved that tenant to another apartment, which considering what he was doing, that was really generous. Most places evict tenants who are doing illegal things. The other problem, I personally have is that the main maintenance guy is not pleasant. He will treat you like you are a child. So my suggestion is to stay away from him. So far he has not entered my apartment without permission. The Property Manager has a short temper and think she rules the earth. However, when I have a problem, I talk to Natasha, she is very nice and understanding and go the length to make sure you are happy.
The staff also seems to give notice of things a little late. Today we received a notice about Fire Extinguishing checks tomorrow at 8am. I would have liked at least a week's notice. But from what it sounds like, they aren't entering the apartments to do so, they are asking us to put our extinguishers outside our doors.
I think if you conduct yourself well and don't expect everything to be handed to you, you'll be fine.

I do understand where you are coming from and I admire your patience. But now that I live somewhere else, I know I can say this with confidence. When you pay for a place to live - you are paying for everything that comes with it. The maintenence guy, the Property Manager - everytying. You shouldnt have to avoid things. In my new place every single member of the staff is extremely helpful and pleasant to speak to. Also, some advice - be present when they do a move out inspection at 1660. They tried to take away half of our deposit to replace the carpeting, but when asked to show proof of the inspection saying they need to do so, they couldnt. After months of going back and forth with them - they finally were forced to return our full deposit due to the fact they could not provide any proof that the carpet was damaged in the slightest - in fact the carpet was not even replaced before the next tennant moved in!!!

A lot of problems come to light when you get past the first 6 months, seriously. And the maintenance guy is incredibly rude and demeaning, and they track dirt and everything on their boots all over your carpet when they do come in, and you're left with the mess. The property manager is also very condescending. When I lived there she called my apartment because I had towels drying on my balcony and my living room blinds weren't all completely down. Since when do I have to keep my blinds all the way down? They try to control aspects of your living space that they have no say in. I will admit that there are one or two people that work in the leasing office that are nice, but the staff changes so frequently that it is hard to keep anyone around that knows you.
