Horrible Management. Nice, but slowly deteriorating space.

I have to agree with one of the other reviewers that the management at this complex is rude, unhelpful, and alround shoddy.
Noise- I complained for SEVERAL months about the neighbors upstairs with their almost daily domestic violence situations and requested to be moved to another apartment. I was told no, they would take care of it. The noise continued to the level where I had to call security one night. Security, in turn, told me he was too far away from the site, and if I would take it upon myself to call 911.
Maintenance - Due to above noise, my chandelier in the living room actually broke and crashed around me and my guest one evening. I went to the office and reported this. I was met with a blank stare and the question: " don't you have a broom."
I mentioned to the them the LARGE shards of glass everywhere and the level of danger this provided. They arrived the next day only after my furious father put in a call after three had gone unanswered.
Responsiveness -- I continue to request maintenance suport for things like a flooded kitchen sink, flood on the carpet, broken drawers in the bathroom and a broken SMOKE DETECTOR. These requests were repeatedly ignored, in fact, my sink still leaks!
MY FAVORITE - LOST RENT CHECKS!!! Placed a check in the drop box at the beginning of one month. 30 days later, found a note from the Sherriff's office on my door threatening eviction. Requested from the management office why this was the case since they had my $700. I was told by a very rude staffer, they didn't have it, and they did not believe me that I had indeed submitted my rent check. I had to then get proof from my bank to show the issuance of a check for that amount. Even after all this, they were unapologetic, in fact, they were downright rude in the following months when I demanded a receipt for each check I dropped off.
The space - exercise room is broken. TV in exercise room is broken. Fence on back of building adjacent to large homeless shelter for men is broken and has been for months. Facilities look un-maintained and deteriorating.
A pity b/c location makes this a nice spot to live in. Unfortunately, it is NOT worth the poor management you would have to live with. Run, don't walk AWAY from 450 Piedmont.
