First of all, I've been here 3 years. This qualifies my comments.

Old management-while true, repairs were shoddy to say the least, at least were kind and thoughtful. They knew you and ----, the manager-forget it. THE most wonderful property manager ever!! She cared about the residents. ---- wasn't the most personable person but the others made up for her.

FAST FORWARD to new management. PLEASE THINK TWICE IF YOUR LOOKING TO RENT HERE!!! With all of the supposedly "new" upgrades to the property (new windows-woopie!!), there is ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION for the residents. Any time you ask a question, the answer is.."well..it's in your lease.." It's so frustrating trying to talk to anyone there (except one of the guys--------, and the maintenance head guy is nice). Other than that, everyone smiles until you need something.

If your a loyal tenant, take your loyalty and money to a property that appreciates that. This property is here to get all they can from residents. And please don't even think about paying your rent late. Not an hour, and surely not a day. You'll pay not only the "standard" late fee (which is fair), but also whatever the market rent is!!! That means that if you get in on a special when the normal rate is 200-300 dollars more, you'll pay that late fee PLUS the difference in your "special" rate rent and the "normal" rent rate. I had a neighbor this happened to and she's been a great tenant and has rented here longer than me!

I hope this helps. I'm not into bashing but I would hate for anyone to be fooled when they walk through those doors. It's a new year and believe me, I'd go up the street to a lesser property before I renew my lease to pay these jokers another year.

Regarding the "It's in your lease" part. The staff have told me things that are less than accurate regarding what was in the lease. An apartment manager is not a reliable source of information regarding what is in your lease or what they can get away with. Landlords of course will always claim that if an altercation arises (Though I don't know if it's a particularly intelligent PR strategy to jump to that at the drop of a hat) that they are in the right and that it is in your lease. IMO you should look at the lease and the relevant laws yourself if an issue arises.

I must say, since my first posting-which was scathing to say the least, the management here has improved tremendously. Someone must have been listening-and more importantly, relaying the less than favorable feedback to the new employees at the front office. Among other things, I'd have to say that one of the biggest and most welcome improvements has been the change in Fidela's attitude (the young lady with the heavy accent in the front office). Once a seemingly cold and rigid person, she's loosened up a bit and actually seems to care about the residents' issues. This will be my last year here and while I won't be sad to leave, I am glad that residents coming in will get a more welcoming staff than the one that started just a little more than a year ago.
