I have been a resident of 550 Abernathy for a little over a month now. We live in the front of the complex near the pool and leasing office and having nothing but good things to say. We have been in and out of the leasing office every couple of days with general questions, or maitenance requests, as my fiancee and I settle into our apartment. We have met everyone on staff. They have been extremely nice, helpful, and welcoming. The two maitenance requests we have put in have both been completed within 24 hours of requesting. They are all very friendly and have bent over backwards to make us feel welcome.
The grounds, at least in the front of the complex are well kept and lit and we have not had any problems with noisy neighbors. I am a regional sales rep and travel frequently and was originally a little concerned with the area. After living here a month, exploring the area, keeping a watchful eye out, and activating the alarm system within the apartment, I am very happy to report that we feel quite safe here. The only downside we have found to the apartments is the sound insulation is minimal. The walls are thin and you don't have to listen hard to hear your neighbors walking over you, or a tv going in the living room below you. At the end of the day however, it is an apartment built in the late 70's, what do you really expect. If granite countertops, soundproof walls, and reccessed lighting is what your looking for, then buy a loft down the street for $250K , there are many for sale.
Overall, we feel as though these apartments are a great value. The apartment you get is much nicer for this area, then the rent should afford you.
Word to the wise on apartment living - pay your rent early, always, and people will go out of their way to help you. Make their lives easy, and they will make your's as well. Happy apartment hunting.............
PS: If you are having trouble locating an apartment that fits your styel, check out a local company called ProMove. They don't charge you anything and they are exceptional at helping you find the right place. Collin from ProMove helped us find 550 Abernathy, and we are very thankful for his help.

I don't feel like good customer service should be dependent on sucking up to the office staff. My experiences with the staff is that the apt manager is a complete nutbag who is always rude. My guess is this review was written by the office staff themselves this being an anonymous site combined with the fact that every other review is negative.

I do not agree with the response at all, and in fact, agree completely with the review. Our experience is exactly the same. There are always down-sides to apt living, but having a responsive and friendly staff is very important.
