Terrible Living in a Great Location

First, the good stuff. The location is fantastic. There's a Marta station, literally across the road, close to the Fox and in walking distance from Publix, CVS, Walgreens, restaurants, etc. and lots of nice artsy areas that are blossoming in Midtown. There's a nice mini mart in the building, a fab' Italian restaurant, a pizzeria and two sub shops. All in the building. The views really are spectacular, if you get a nice unit.
BUT...
When we first moved in, the leasing agents showed us the great plans, including architect's rendering of the deck and pool area that was to be finished by April the following year. Two years later, we've moved out and still no pool or sunning area. The fitness room is okay, but the equipment isn't serviced regularly. We moved into one apartment and it was riddled with cockroaches, and they were nesting under the carpet. Fortunately, they allowed us to move into another unit. All the apartments have some roaches, but not as bad as others we've read about. The leasing staff and office management don't seem to know what's going on, except a couple of good apples in the bunch. The others deny what they told you before, go back on their word, and all but accuse residents of lying. Management attitudes need some brushing up, and they frequently act as if they're doing you a huge favor, when you ask them to do their job. Parking is a major problem as there's a long waiting list for tenants. We ended up parking down the street and across the road, which isn't fun in the rain or cold. There are frequently notices of breakins in the parking garage in the building. Public areas including laundry, elevators, corridors, trash chutes are often in disgusting conditions. Residents are not encouraged to scoop their pets' poop, so the area on 3rd street, outside the complex, smells like raw pet sewage. You have no control over your air and heat, so in April and May, when it's already steaming, there's still heat pumping into your apartment. You pay a bill that you have no control over. If you need a temporary place to live that's convenient to downtown/midtown, go, knowing that you'll have to put up with all this and more. Wish Worthing would buck up, it's a terrific location and could be polished into something fantastic!!!!
