leasing office in 710 Peachtree is ridiculous

I went to the leasing office and tried to rent a studio. I am just a student at GA tech. I only have a part time job without much income. So they said they want to see my co-signer (my dad)'s saving account having an amount of the rent. After I showed them the bank statement with my co-signer's application, they said this is not enough becasue I did not show the income of my co-signer. This is not what they said earlier. They said 6000 dollars in saving account was good enough in my previous visit without other documents. Finally, they said I have to 3 times of the rent in my saving account which is 17,000 dollars.
This is so ridiculous. I argued with them and the manager threatened me to kick me out of the building with securities.
I don't recommend anyone to rent an apartment there. Their policies are outraged. The manager will just kick you out of the building if you don't behave like a dog in front of him.

Unfortunately, this gentleman has presented a very skewed version of the facts. These are:
1. This man changed his story on 5 different visits to my Leasing Manager expressing at each visit a completely alternate answer to the income question.
2. I became involved today only after being asked to do so because this person had become so loud, abusive and argumentative.
3. When I entered the office he became even louder and at one point grabbed angrily at his girlfriends arm. It was at this point that I asked him to leave the building and if he would not comply, then I would have him removed.
We welcome all prospects to our building who truthfully and accurately complete the application and who qualify under our income standards, which are prevalent throughout our industry.
I assure you that we treat all prospects and residents courteously and respectfully, which is evident by our stabilized occupancy and renewal growth since this incredible team took over. I continue to be proud of my team and of our building and residents.

I believe the accounts of the gentleman trying to rent in this case.
I've lived here and dealt with the management, and I personally know that Brian is very retaliatory, rude, and will cut you off in conversation when you are trying to explain something that disagrees with his perspective. If you attempt to get a word in edgewise, he flips on you, threatens to call security, and then labels you "abusive" and "argumentative". He treats the residents in a very condescending manner, and it's my personal opinion that he does so because he knows he can make living here difficult for you, as if it isn't already difficult enough. I also know that the office staff LIES to protect their own interests. They will change contexts of conversations, deny receiving documents, and never admit when they have made an error. If you HAVE to live here, you'll need an attorney on retainer. TRUST ME. BETTER YET, DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL CERTAINLY REGRET IT. |

I also believe the tenant's account of the situation. My daughter moved here from another state to take a job in Atlanta, and the day we checked in, I knew she was in trouble. The smell in that building was gut wrenching. She had already paid the required fees up front for a years lease and parking. When we tried to get her parking spot assignment, they told her they would have to put her on a waiting list and she could find a parking spot on the street if she got there early enough in the day to get one. DUH! What was the $75.00 a month for then? The manager also made it sound like it was my daughter's fault that Peachtree's parking records were inaccurate. The next day I went with her to the office. I was very angry, and I know it showed. Well guess what, yes they had a space for her, a spot that the tenant had been moved out from that place for 6 months.. Go figure. Can we say double booking?? $$$$$
The Roaches, believe it. Every response on this site concerning roaches, TRUE. The health department needs to be involved in this along with the DEA. This business is not about providing residency, but about screwing the public to make a buck. If the Atlanta judicial lock-ups become over crowded, there is always 710 Peachtree. What is the word I'm looking for? Oh yes, Slum landlords.
