I have lived here for a year now and feel that I am qualified to leave a review. At first it seemed like a very charming place at a very good rate. I was never told that the building next door was a homeless shelter and that the homeless folks are very often walking aimlessly around the apartments, shaving in the driveway, and diving through the trash in the back. The sound insulation in this building is non-existent. I live in the very back of the complex away from the road and can hear everything. I hear the homeless people every morning at 5 am singing and yelling, I hear people at Felini's every night, and can hear every vehicle drive by on Ponce. The people on the management team are the most incompetant people I have ever seen. I notified them that the coded doors were broken about 10 times before they were fixed. The "gate" to the parking lot is broken at least once a month. You can't get in and you can't get your car out...real nice. The dirt path called a driveway is flooded half the year and is a nasty mud pit. I also had a major problem with my unit....a three sq.ft. section of the plastered ceiling fell out onto my white bed. The exposed ceiling above was a mess of rotten boards, dirt, and wet debris. I was unable to stay at my place for eight nights and they told me that they would not reimburse me for those nights because a maintenance man came by and said that the rest of the ceiling was stable... I will be contacting an inspection group shortly to have them come out. I am not trying to give a good place a bad name, I just wish that I had been given a warning before moving in and having to deal with this for an entire year. Go to Summit Midtown in midtown or try reserve at lenox park in lenox park...both great places. Also, I am never late with rent, loud, or obnoxious...I just expect my ceiling to stay above my head.
