Some places are worth the money. This one isn't.

If you are looking at this apartment, I beg you: keep looking elsewhere! Everything started out fine here...I was moving to Atlanta from college and everyone at the leasing office was really nice and the place seemed really beautiful. Let me promise you that the leasing office staff will stop being so nice after you move in. They already have your money, what do they care' The maintenance staff is fairly adequate, I will give them that. The biggest problem I have here, however, is the issue of safety. When I moved in last summer I kept getting flyers from AMLI about "being careful because of many car break ins." I think there were about 11 break-ins in one week. I know one person that moved from building 8 (my building) to building 6 because his apartment was broken into and was told that building 8 is more known for break-ins because it is closer to the access road. They have since built an iron gate "wall" around the access road, but I have seen people wait on foot at the back gates to the complex for a car to come out, so they can sneak in through the car gate. Back to the break-ins: they finally caught the guys because the robbers LIVED HERE and a few of them got into a scuffle with some of their visitors. Not only did they find the guys who were breaking in, but they also found their hand gun that they had thrown into the bushes when the cops came. Wouldn't that make YOU feel safe' The security guard they have doesn't seem to be doing much to curb these actions. I have been seeing real cops on the premises, specifically in my parking deck. Yesterday I saw 4 cops in 2 cars and a van of 2 cops with what looked like cameras. My roommate once asked the cop what he was doing here because she wanted to know if she should still feel safe living here...his response was "I'm not at liberty to say." It's also a real pain to get in/out of the complex depending on what time of day it is because of traffic on Shallowford Road. I was in an accident waiting to get into the apartment complex coming from the direction of Briarcliff Road. I was hit standing still by a car that was going about 55mph. My car was totalled. Everyone from the office came out to see what had happened because they heard the crash, but when I went into the office to get the phone number of the local police, they told me there wasn't one. (There is, it's called the Dekalb police force.) My apartment itself is pretty nice. I like the open design and it feels pretty spacious. I don't like, however, the gaps under the doors. It lets the cold air in in the winter, and the bugs in in the summer. The parking deck is usually a scary experience. You can't see who is coming around the corner until you're around the corner, and I usually feel like I'm going to get hit at any moment. But, that's just my rating since this is an apartment rating website. Thank God I am moving to a better apartment soon, but I felt it was my duty to share with you my experience here. Take what you will, and make up your own mind. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

Hi there,
I am a current resident whose been robbed a few times including my car. We have always said that the robberies were an inside job, and now we see this. Do you know for a fact that the robbers live here? I am furious right now. They should have told us about this. How did you find out?
