If the reviews I have read here today were taken under oath, then most of these people should be in jail for perjury at best; or cheap fiction writers at worst! Having lived in Alexan Terrace for nearly 9 months, I would give this property an honest overall rating of an A minus. First of all, there can be no complaints about the Location. AT is centrally located in Midtown Atlanta and convenient to everything in this area, i.e. grocery stores, restaurants, banks, Fox Theater, downtown, Crawford Long Hospital, and Georgia State. Also quick access to I-75/I-85, Hartsfield, Buckhead, Decatur, and Emory University. Yes, there is a homeless and vagrancy problem in this part of the city, but I challenge anyone choosing to live in this area to not experience this issue. This leads me to Safety and Security. Despite the surrounding elements, AT provides their tenants with adequate safety and security measures with card access doors and garage door transmitters and an onsite Atlanta PD resident. My only suggestions would be convex mirrors and speed bumps in the garage, additional security cameras in the hallways and elevators, and the closure of the visitor entrance gate during business hours. Visitors can gain access via the call box. There have been some vandalism incidents and occassional loud groups and parties, but a few bad apples from the outside should not ruin the reputation of this fine community. I believe the response to these incidents has been excellent. This leads me to the Office Staff. At no time have I ever seen any unprofessional or discourteous behavior from this group of individuals. They have always been consistently attentive, responsive, professional, and caring to every request we have made and have always gone out of their way whenever possible, especially the Property Manager and the Assistant Property Manager! With respect to Maintenance, this team of professionals are always quick, reliable, and courteous. Parking is more than adequate considering surrounding buildings do not even provide parking for either tenants or guests. The building construction is fine and individual unit features and appliances are good mid-level domestic items. Midtown Atlanta is definitely a neighborhood in transition and with all the change going on all around this area, Alexan Terrace Apartments is an excellent apartment home community and a good value in the heart of midtown.

I feel I must now update my own previous review "Taking the Stand" of Alexan Terrace Apts. Midtown. As of July 01, 2005 Gables Prop. Mgmt. has taken over this complex and in the last 35 days has taken this excellent community and turned it into a slum. This conclusion is not taken lightly and is apparent to all residents I have spoken with. The new staff are simply arrogant and completely unresponsive to the tenants; while the maintenance staff resemble thugs who you would not wish to invite into your home. The prevailing consensus opinion is that everyone I have spoken with would not renew their lease under the present conditons and that includes the Accenture corporate apartments. If things do not shape up and fast, a mass exodus from this property will be seen over the next 6 months; and the homeless citizens who loiter around will be living here! Gables has definitely lived up to their reputation!
