where management has been putting fake reviews on for the longest time.
this place isn't HORRIBLE, but it is DEFINITELY nowhere near what they make it out to be in the ads.
> The apartments are small
> The apartments are poorly insulated against noise and weather
> The leasing office is a joke with a queen bea leading them all on
> The residents have been going downhill since the 7th month of them opening
> Urine is the smell in the hallways
> Garbage is backed-up all the time on the weekend and the smell goes all through the hallway
> Residents allow friends and visitors to park on all levels leaving little room for anyone else
> Rent is high for this part of town
> Homeless people surround the property and
> Maintenance staff is SCARY

Before I begin, let me begin by assuring you that I am not a resident nor am I in no way associated with Alexan Terrace. But here's a reality check for you and anyone else who uses this website as a reliable source of info: First of all, I cannot help but to think when I read all of the reviews that most of the people bitching on this site are disgruntled residents who either didn't get their way with the office staff (specials, outlandish requests, special modifications for the lease they agreed to, etc.), they don't have jobs and have absolutely nothing better to do with their time, or they have no clue what apartment living is all about. You say the apartments are small and rent is high for "this part of town," but yet you so stupidly signed your lease for six or more months. I don't know if you've did an extensive search for apartments in Dwntwn/Midtwn/Bckhd ATL, but they are ALL high! The reality is that you will pay for location here... bottom line. Homeless people surround everyone's property, from the gas stations and grocery stores to your front door. It's the city... get over it already. By the way... when was the last time you helped out at a local soup kitchen? You should look into that... I think your welcoming personality would be a blessing to them. Not to mention you chose to live in a mid/high-rise apartment community. With that, you have a hotel-type feel with long, echoing corridors. Making any sense yet that you are going to hear every drop going past your door, every draft around the corner, and every footstep above you? Guess you missed out on Bill Nye the Science Guy in the mid 90s. You chose to be stacked on top of people, what did you expect- Serta mattresses to be placed underneath the carpet? And about those "scary" maintenance guys... let me guess: by that you mean they're black right? or are they scary because after 8 hours (not to mention being on call all night and on wkends) of making sure your happy ass is comfortable in your cushy apartment, they look like hell with no good enough pay to reflect their hard work for you... the resident. Let us know when you renew. |

Tickledred, your post is absolutely contradictory. You say that this site is for people who "don't have jobs and have absolutely nothing better to do with their time" yet your post is one of the longest post here! How long did that take you?!? And, if you believe this, why are you on the site "wasting" your time? Need a job?!? I truly believe people come to this site to provide their opinions and assist others. You can tell a disgruntle response here and there but you have to look for the items that are consistent throughout the reviews. Poor management, poor quality of materials, trash problems, break-ins (which by the way are partly maintenance/management issues when the gates remain wide open for days at a time).

Actually, shataearrrrrrr, it took me absolutely no time at all seeing as how i type 66 wpm with 96% accuracy. and as far as jobs go, I have a damn good one that i worked very hard for, thank you. plus, if i needed one, you couldn't afford me (TRUST). but i've dealt with enough customers and disgruntled residents to know that it doesn't matter where you go, it's always the same shyyt, different property. that's just a harsh reality. no community is going to be perfect, management is not always going to be the greatest, and there will always be problems. if you're not willing to accept those truths, then sweetie, it's time to buy. And, PLEASE, someone get real about gates. break-ins, murders, and similar crimes are NOT MANAGEMENT's fault, nor is it due to gates working improperly. The fact is, if someone wants to get to you, they will, gate working properly or not. They could be your next door neighbor; just because they passed the criminal portion of the application doesn't mean they don't have the potential to be on Fox 5 News! It could be the FedEx guy you see daily, some resident's friend, anyone. Gates do not equal security. Come on scholars...

Tickledred, I agree wholeheartedly. I live in midtown, but not one of the apparently horrid complexes in the area. But, I can assure you, poverty will be a part of your midtwon experience until white flight has officially pushed all the poor people, black and white, out of the innercity, with its overpriced taxes, mini mansions, conominiums, apartments, and retail. I moved here from the 'burbs 3 years ago. And I live on a small residential, mostly gentrified street, a block away from what is considered to be one of Atlanta's worst corners, and I have NEVER had a crime problem. And it would be much easier to perpetrate crimes here than on the very open and commercialized North or Ponce Avenues.
