Amli at Perimeter Place
< | >
I lived in the Place for a year. I was actually within 4 months of its grand opening. Overall, it's changed since it opened. For one it's fuller and parking outside of the end of the day hours is becoming an issue. If you happen to catch a movie after work and get home at 9 p.m, you might have to parkk quite a distance from your apartment.
Most importantly, there is an increased number of dogs in the building. One of the dogs almost attacked me in front of the downstairs elevator one evening as i returned from Target with some fresh food. There is no day I don't bump into a tenant with a dog or two coming into the building. Considering the way the apartments are self contained, with not that much ground space, or open space, there needs to be an awareness about the pets and the size of pets. That's why most highrises do not allow pets only cats. There is an average of two dogs, not the average Chihuahua, but large breed dogs per apartment. Today I passed by a dog that had it's mouth chained shut. I wonder why'
Maintenance problems take a while to get fixed and when they do it's more or less the wrong thing they attend to, so you have to call a couple more times for them to get it right. No one has time for that.
The apartments are great and I think the new management takes a little getting used to considering how nice, and community party friendly the old management was. The convenience to everything around, the mall, all the great shops is amazing, you'll be the envy of your friends. But with everything comes a slight negative. And for me this is it.

What a jackass. I'm quite sure the problem wasn't with dogs themselves, but with the lack of actual training that most people have with their obnoxious dogs that the original poster has a problem with. Such as the one that almost attacked him. Most of you people with pets are too lazy to learn how to train them and control them properly and so most people without pets become annoyed by it. This is especially true in apartments for some reason...
Also, you can't just "MOVE" out of an apartment if you don't like something. You have to wait for your lease to be up. There's no problem with voicing your opinion on such a thing. I'm glad the original poster did. Now I know there are a bunch of people that only care about themselves that live here and have huge unruly dogs that are around too. Steered me clear of this place.

I work practically down the street from this place and have considered renting here. However, after this and many of the other reviews, I am steering clear. I completely understand this poster's concern about dogs. In my opinion, dogs should not even be permitted in apartments. What is a 100lb dog going to do all day in a 900 sq ft apartment?? Its absurb that people expect them to be well behaved when they are confined to such a small space. The state that I am orginally from had very few apartments that allowed dogs . . .I love dogs, but have no problem waiting until I buy a house to have one. For me, it about respect to the dog and allowing the dog enough space to run and be a dog.
