AMLI - Only out for money

I first moved in this complex when Lincoln owned it. The residents and leasing staff were very professional, the grounds were maintained, maintenance issues were handled timely, etc. Perfect place to live! Everything is nearby. There were some break-ins and management added safety features to the doors and held resident meetings.
Well, fast forward and see what "great" changes AMLI has brought in.... Sure, even more security features were added and now we have an off-duty cop walking around. Try having a noise complaint. No one does anything. 4am parties' Are you serious' I was told to call the off-duty cop to make my noise complaint. Didn't do any good because he was mad that I CALLED him at 4am. This management company is allowing complete garbage to live with respectable residents. Beer bottles, garbage bags in hallways, spitting contests (woke up to that just this morning), dog waste in elevators.... I'm paying too much to live in a college dorm. At least there, I understood the childish behavior and antics. Can't understand it from people paying over $1000 a month.
This complex had it all before AMLI!
Potential, good residents - look elsewhere. Maybe AMLI will get the hint and clean up their act and allow this place to be what it was again.

I was one of the earliest residents there and just moved out in May of this year. I think many people are being pretty unfair to AMLI. I had Elton the maintenance man get up at 2:30 AM to let me into my apt once when I locked my keys in the car - not only did he show right up although he was sleeping, he didn't even charge me for the service. ANother time he actually jumped in the garbage shute to help me find my keys (Yes, I'm pretty clumsy with them at times). I lived on the 6th floor and I realize things were different on some of the lower floors, but in all fairness, AMLI isn't perfect but they are getting beat up unfairly here and on many of the other reviews. I'll concede that the beer bottles being left around and some of the partying can be bad. But it's not that big of a problem and the only real knock on the place I had is the gate that stayed open long enough that non-residents often followed me in. I was told to tell them not to come in - but that's next to impossible when I'm in a car and I really don't think it's my place to do that. After 2 years there - that's the worst I can say about the place and I can say many good things. The stuff Elton alone did to help me out was way more than anyone could expect. I do think they need to change the rules so that if 4 people get a 2 bdr place, each needs to meet the income requirements (that's how it seemed to be before and worked well). But then again, they had very little occupancy back then and as big as the place is, you're going to get some trouble makers as occupancy goes up. I just felt like every reveiew I see if overly harsh and wanted to offer a little different perspective - I lived there 2 years and only moved b/c I moved out of Atlanta. If I moved back to Atl - I'd gladly move back there again.

I agree about all the beer bottles and garbage everywhere...Why can't people put their trash in the trash shoot available on every floor? The elevators smell like body odor all the time. I would recommend some more air fresheners =) I called the property monitor on 2 seperate occasions and he handled both of them so no problem there. I get the e-mails from management on any problems I have or if I need anything with my apartment. I really would just like some of the kids kicked out and the residents car about their own living area. I don't know what to recommend to the management to handle that problem
