DEFINITELY Not worth the money!!! Look elsewhere...

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I moved here in hopes to escape the typical horrors in apartment living. I've only been here a month or so and if I am seriously thinking about packing up an leaving - forget my security deposit! First of all, I am learning from other tenants that I was conned into a ridiculously HIGH rent - my neighbor lives in the same exact apartment (model, sq foot, amentities, etc) and is paying way less! Suppose I was taken for a sucker - but I wouldn't mind so much if it was worth the money.
1) The office staff could be alot more professional (and competent) - I've heard a couple of those girls gossiping about residents. I didn't even get a Welcome Packet when I moved in!!! I had to figure out how to get around building, where parking entrances were, who to call for cable, etc... on my own! Still don't know the code to enter the business center! Also, rent is due on the 3rd and if you're late... be prepared for some outrageous accumulating fees.
2) The outside grounds aren't kept well AT ALL - dog poop everywhere, trash accumulates around the building from residents (especially on the weekend) and nearby businesses. They tried covering the grass up with pine needles but now it just looks tacky and unkept!!! Speaking of dog poop - if you have a pet... beware! I feel bad for petowners because there are no dog trails or pet walking areas... so dogs go where ever - it's disgusting! And there aren't any dog parks in the immediate area either!
3) I originally wanted a top floor apartment because I have a problem with noise levels but I was told that because the building is concrete, noise was minimal. Not true. If you're lucky to get a quite neighbor above you then you might not have issues. But I'm two seconds away from confronting mine!
4) The weekends in this building bring on a whole new set of issues - mainly young people and their drunk friends! I've seen people bring groups into the business center at 2am and since I've been here, silly things like holes kicked in walls and fire alarms pulled have happened... again, I've only been here a month or so.
5) Other little things like the hallway carpet is unkept and dirty, the visitor entrance smelling like dog urine, haven't checked out the pool yet (but I'm almost afraid to), gym is just "OKAY", etc, etc, etc.
I just don't think the rent is reasonable here at all! I've come from places in far more expensive cities that charge rent comparable to this that offer much better amenities and in a nicer atmosphere. I will say that the maintenance team is AWESOME - they respond instantly and are very thorough! I've also heard other residents say that they're starting to do more events (i.e. happy hours, pool parties, etc) than before. Either way, this place is SO not worth the high rent - there's nothing luxurious about this place. Random people live here and I cannot wait to leave! You can find a much better place in midtown or buckhead for a less and even if you want to stay in the Dunwoody/Perimeter area... there are so many other places like Gables, Archstone, Drexel! Stay away from this place - once you move in, you'll feel like you've gotten suckered!!!
