As you know, there are two sides to every story and I ask that anyone considering moving into this building to check the facts and to get to the truth on your own. Once you are there, I believe that you will make the right decision to not rent in this building.
You really can't beat the location. It is situated in a nice spot. Unfortunately, as one of the early residents in this building, I have seen the quality of management shift in a negative direction when the leadership shifted from Lincoln Property Group over to AMLI.
Here are the facts.
1. I asked that the deadbolt locks on my door be fixed on several occasions spanning over a year.
2. The locks would be fixed and would work for about 6 months and would then require additional repair.
3. These units have been broken into on several occasions. Management has made efforts to augment security.
4. I noticed that the structural integrity of my doorframe was in question and asked for this to be fixed on two occasions.
5. AFter two attempts at getting the door frame fixed, I finally brought this to the attention of the property manager and was told it would be fixed right away.
6. Two days later, maintenance showed up to begin the repair. I notified them that I was leaving and would be back in a few hours.
7. When I returned, I found a mess in the outside hallway and the function of the locks was worse than before.
8. I arrived and my unit was unlocked. The maintenance crew were nowhere to be seen.
9. A maintenance worker arrived at my unit stating that his supervisor sent him up to make sure my door was locked.
10. I asked the property manager for two months of free rent. One month for failing to fix my door and one month for leaving it unlocked. I also asked for the option to terminate my lease without penalty while I looked for another lace to live.
11. I was offered 1 week to decide if I was going to leave or not. I was told that I would still have to provide 30 day notice once I agreed to leave. I was offered the possibility of a $100 gift card for my trouble. This was their solution after 24 hrs of consultation between the property manager and regional manager.
