Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I am a very "recent" former tenant of Auburn Glen. I will not say anything that is untrue but it will really sound like it. I stayed there 1 year...fulfilling my lease. During that year, I wrote over 12 pages in complaints. That's right, 12! My major complaints were: the thin walls, making it difficult to LIVE when people on the floor above could be heard using the bathroom, or worse, in "bed". Another complaint was the absence of the "ONSITE" security officer. Yet more complaints: Numerous times I called the answering service and was told that the security officer was not on site and would not be there for HOURS.(and, yes, I was told to call APD...which I did)! The apparent drug use and dealing; loud noises through the night; blasting music; food, trash, weed bags, furniture and whatever just thrown over the grounds or in the garage (definitely in the "smelly" stairwells and garage entrances). And don't let me talk about the elevator with "urine", water and trash.
More major problems to me were the people hanging around the building "inside and outside" with the "security" doors open or ajar. However my "loudest" complaint of those mentioned is the trash. It was really, really bad. It appeared when a person was tired of carrying their trash, they dropped it wherever.
Now I must be fair. The manager showed effort but she didn't have enough office support. She tried to implement some new things but until the "mentality" of people change, you will get the same result. It is a nice location and looks good from the outside. The groundskeepers try, at times, to keep it "less" filthy. And the gate WORKED everyday that I lived there....yeah!
In my final words, I encourage anyone seeking a clean, safe, quiet place to stay...choose somewhere else. If you can deal with the drugs/dealers, enormous trash collections and loud, loud noise...then Auburn is my suggestion to you. But whatever you decide, please read each of the bullet points on your lease and call the apartment complex on each one. I did and I survived my year. I moved by my own "common sense" choosing and wish Auburn Glen well.
