Absolutely the worst ever....

The apt was dirty when I moved in. I spray, but bugs keep coming, and I do not leave food out. The walls are very thin. I hear my upstairs neighbors constantly just walking across the floor. Dogs are barking at all hours of the night. And I have one, but I'm respectful of other neighbors. I've lived in many apts in the past and have not had these problems. It IS possible to pay this kind of rent and live in a much newer and nicer apt. I am extremely disappointed and cannot wait to move. I'm counting the days and will make sure no one I know EVER makes this same mistake!

We lived there when the Knox Brothers (Merryland Investment of Augusta) owned it, and it was a palace. Everything was wonderful. Then Equity residential of Chicago bought it. It was a total change. The first thing that they did was let go the competent maintenance men, and replace them with cheap labor. Then they raised the rent 20%. After that they lowered the move in standards and drug dealers and gypsies moved in. Crime went up, nothing was fixed, and the property was unsafe. In 1 year, it went from a palace to a dump. And if you look at anything that Equity owns, you will see that this is how they work. All over the country, stay away from Equity, unless you want to be able to buy your drugs without having to drive. And for all this, Sam Zell, who owns Equity, is among the 10 richest people in the world. Some people only care about money. |
