Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
Lexington Glen met my bare minimum expectations, but it certainly did not exceed them. I'll try to be fair in the pros and cons:
It was inexpensive when my roommate and I moved in two years ago, but management jacked the renewal rate up $90 per mon. after the first year and just proposed another $100 if we chose to stay another year - their thanks to us, I guess, for being good tenants who have always paid our rent on time. (We're not renewing again.)
It was quiet near our apartment, but the units near the pool are surely not. I'd also avoid the parking garages under most of the buildings - they're creepy, poorly lit, moldy, and potentially dangerous.
Neighbors let their dogs poop all over the place - including the exterior hallways and stairwells that, by the way, are rarely cleaned or pressure-washed. The gym equipment is usually broken, and the front gate is a joke.
On the upside, we've never had a problem with bugs. Service requests have been honored within 48 hours. The apartments are spacious, and ours came equipped with a washer and dryer - which was a big plus.
To me, the new management has been friendly (apart from sticking it to us on the rent increase), and they've done a good job with community activities. I loved (and will miss) the location of the complex - with easy access to 285 and 400. It was very easy to get around town with that convenience.
The complex was ok for the price we paid initially, but it's definitely not worth a premium. I don't know what they're selling the units for now, but if it's on par with other complexes, I'd look elsewhere. If it's cheaper (and you're looking for cheaper), it has all you really need (but no more).
