Overstayed My Welcome

I have lived at The Azalea Park apartment complex for five years and I think I have earned the right to say that when Archstone Communities managed this property, roughly two years ago, it was a community that I did recommend to friends. It was very well kept and the maintenance crew was prompt with keeping things in working order. I had a problem with my water heater (bursting) and Archstone had a new water tank put in, (still had tags on it); not one they salvaged from another apartment to save a few bucks. That is my interpretation of what customer service is all about. It was a community I was proud to live in. Neighbors were friendly and pleasant to talk with.

Two years ago the property was sold to Triangle Communities and since this transaction, Azalea Park has quickly become a slum. The service of the office it terrible... when they can remember that you?ve had a complaint, and maintenance is virtually non-existent. When first moving to a larger apartment on the same property, I informed the staff that they needed to switch the water bill over in my name on three different occasions. This did not occur for nine months and then they back charged me from the time I originally moved in. The only comment from the office I received was, ?This is gonna be ugly." What was that supposed to mean' The apartment above me flooded and my ceiling collapsed in the dining room, kitchen, and living room; the only thing I was asked was if I had renters insurance. It took three weeks for that to be repaired, I wasn?t even offered a hotel stay until I asked. Whenever the family upstairs is walking around, I think someone is in one of the back bedrooms because the floors and insulation are so shoddy, it sounds like they are in my apartment. Pets are allowed in the complex and it is very apparent that they are around. There are receptacles to deposit pet waste, but they are obviously never used. Needless to say, this place has become a dump and the message has come across to me loud and clear that it is time to vacate the premises. I turned in my intent to vacate four months in advance and they had the nerve to ask me why I was leaving, why I was turning in my notice so far in advance, and might I change my mind' Have they completely lost all sensibility'!'! I honestly would not recommend this complex to my worst enemy. This property should be condemned.

PS. I forgot to mention the vermin problem... Azalea Park should be charging them rent.
