I moved to Azalea Park back in June of 2004 when I first moved to ATL. I only knew about the northside and I was attending school at a nearby university, so the location and price of the apartment definitely got my attention. I should have known that 690.00 for a 2bdrm/2bath was too good to be true!!!! First of all I was only there for a year....I could not wait to break my lease!!!! Within a years time they had 5 management changes, you never knew anyone up there, you just went up there to pay your rent, and complain all the problems you were having in your apartment, as you notice the same ants that were taking over your apartment are also taking over the leasing center. This is what all I dealt with in just one years time at Azalea Park:

ANTS, ANTS, ANT....I CANT SAY IT ENOUGH...ANTS EVERYWHERE FROM MY MASTER BEDROOM CLOSET TO THE ACTUAL MICROWAVE WHICH THE INSIDE WAS FILLED WITH THEM A DAY AFTER I CLEANED IT USING CLOROX CLEAN UP

WATERBUGS, PALMETOO BUGS, ROACHES....THEY WERE EVERYWHERE ESPECIALLY THE BABY ROACHES IN THE KITCHEN ON THE COUNTER....BEWARE AND IM A VERY CLEAN PERSON, BUT WHEN ALL YOUR NEIGHBORS ARE MEXICAN WHO DONT CLEAN UP AND HAVE 20 PEOPLE IN A HOUSEHOLD THE BUGS WILL NEVER GO AWAY AND THEY WILL JUST COME BACK AND FOURTH.

THE A/C AND HEAT BROKE ABOUT 5 TIMES AND IT WAS THE WORST, THE UNIT JUST NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED INSTEAD OF ALL THE "PATCH WORK" THEY WERE DOING

MY CLOSET ROD ACTUALLY FELL DOWN COMPLETELY RIGHT AROUND THE TIME OF HURRICANE KATRINA AND ITS TROPICAL STORMS WERE BRUSHING ATL, I TRIED TO MAKE AN EXCUSE ABOUT IT BEING THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE ON THE BUILDING CAUSING IT TO EXPAND OR SHRINK IN SIZE, BUT THAT WASNT THE CASE WHEN IT TOOK MAINTENCE 2 WEEKS TO COME PUT MY ROD BACK UP ALL TO FIND OUT THAT IT FELL AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER BECAUSE OF A LOUD "KA-BOOM" FROM THE MAINTENCE PEOPLE UPSTAIRS WORKING ON THE APARTMENT....IMAGINE ALL YOUR CLOTHES ON THE FLOOR FOR TWO WEEKS....NOT COOL!!!!

NOISY NEIGHBORS.....ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS CINCO DE MAYO PLEASE TAKE A VACATION AWAY FROM AZALEA PARK BECAUSE ITS LIKE A MEXICAN PARADE GOING ON UNTIL ABOUT 2AM IN THE MORNING....I GUESS THEY FORGOT ALL THE OTHER NON-MEXICAN PEOPLE HAVE TO WORK IN THE MORNING

I ACTUALLY WITNESSED A FIGHT AND STABBING BETWEEN TWO GUYS OVER A GIRL, WHO SHE JUST SAT THERE SCREAMING AND YELLING NOOOOO THE WHOLE TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE OF THE GUYS GOT STABBED AND KICKED ON THE PAVEMENT AND THEN DROVE OFF TO LEAVE THEM STRANDED...CAN WE SAY GHETTO!!!!!! GOOD THING I WAS ON MY PATIO AND THEY WERE NO WHERE CLOSE BY ME....

AND NOW FOR THE BEST MOMENT OF ALL MY MOMENTS AT AZALEA PARK......

******I HAD A SNAKE IN MY APARTMENT**** YES A F*CKIN SNAKE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
I POLITELY GOT MY NECCESSITIES AND STAYED AT THE W HOTEL WITH MY DOG AND ROOMMATE FOR THAT NITE UNTIL THEY CAME OUT AND VERIFIED IT HAD LEFT SINCE THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS SPRAY IT WITH SOME RAID LOL...I KNOW IT SOUNDS DUMB BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE EXPECT TO HAVE A SNAKE IN THEIR APARTMENT!!!! WHEN I TOLD THE LEASING OFFICE THEY SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS NORMAL, THE GUY WHO CAME OUT WAS OF COURSE MEXICAN AS WELL AND SAID THIS WAS THE 4TH APARTMENT THIS WEEK THAT REPORTED A SNAKE....I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO GO BACK UP TO THE LEASING OFFICE TO BREAK MY LEASE BUT IT WOULD HAVE COST 1500.00 AND I ONLY HAD 3 MORE MONTHS LEFT IN MY LEASE SO I WAITED IT OUT


CONCLUSION:

NEVER EVER IN YOUR LIFE MOVE HERE YES ITS CHEAP, YES THE FLOORS PLANS ARE BIG, BUT ALSO YES ITS GHETTO AS HELL, ITS BUG INVESTED, THE GATES NEVER WORKED, ITS LIKE BUFORD HWY IN DUNWOODY, THE POOLS ARE A MESS, THE MANAGEMENT IS UNSTABLE, THE COMCAST CABLE WIRING OUT THERE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED...I EXPERIENCED AN OUTAGE ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY BECAUSE OF THE OLD FAULTY WIRING AND THE ANTS!!!!! IMAGINE THAT!!!

Unfortunately, I did not learn of this site until I moved into Azalea Park....I believe its true. Don't move here. I've been here three days, and will completely confirm the ants and small baby roaches. Its utterly disgusting, and the apmt can't help but be clean (you would think). I'm stuck, but do yourself a favor and DONT MOVE TO THIS TERRIBLE PLACE>

everything that was said is so true I had to move to there from some nice apartments in mairetta to move to this dump and the baby roaches are a mess i didn;t think that this ---- was that bad don't ever ever move out there that is the worst thing that you could ever do to yourself
