The Management of Barrington Canyon are Thieves

Jupiter is responsible for the outrageous idea and implementation of a flat-rate to the water/sewer bills beginning this month. It is based on the size of the apartment. I am one person who lives in a 1BR/1BA and the average I spent in water/sewer monthly in the last 12 months is $14.28. My charge for May 2007 (the premiere month of the flat-rate) is $30.
I have lived here for four years, beginning when it was still a Post property. I have never complained about living here. Not even when the laundry rooms contained broken machines that were not repaired or tended for more than a month. I don't complain when the front gates are wide-opened for anyone to enter, an occurance that leaves the property vulnerable and happens on a reprehensible bi-weekly basis--and this being a "gated" community is one of the reasons why this property is pricier than others on the same street as it is. I don't complain when the car wash facility is out of order...which is also every two weeks.
I draw the line at a management company thinking its residents are so stupid and gullible that we will fall in line like sheep and let them siphon money from our wallets.
After four years and some lovely neighbors, I think I'm going to have to move.

I have lived here since 2001. The complex was 17 years old then and owned and managed by POST properties. One thing I have come to realize is that when a property ages, POST pulls out. Anyway, since Jupiter assumed ownership/management, they started charging for trash pickup which was free under POST management. Under POST, I received a water/sewer bill with my actual usage. Now, after several attempts in trying to determine the way to go, Jupiter has decided to try the "flat rate" billing method and is utilizing CONservice as the billing agent and charging me for the service. According to my understanding of flat rate billing, charges are based on the individual's average usage/bill not the size of the apartment. I have firmly lodged a complaint and so far management has listened. My other concern is the problems with the gate, the fatality that occured on the property which appears to have been domestic in nature, the recent incident (domestic) that resulted in the police being called out and the attack at the mail house. I am VERY concerned and after 6 years, I don't think I will be renewing my lease. The community has definitely changed and I think that this is a result of poor screening by management. My next problem is finding a new place to relocate to, packing up and moving which I know that I'm going to hate. Barrington Canyon is DEFINITELY NOT POST CANYON. Too bad!
