This apartment used to be Barrington Canyon, but it's now called The Pointe at Canyon Ridge, and is under new management.

I've lived here for over two years, and I can't wait for my lease to be up. Up until now, I was more than pleased. Everything that was promised to me in my lease was lived up to. Ever since it came under new management, however, I've detested living here.

There were several apartments I was looking into before I chose this place, but the primary reason I decided to move here was because of the pet friendliness. Adjacent to my unit is a large, fenced-in area for my dog to run around in. Any renter who owns a dog knows the value of letting them out for some fresh air, so I always took advantage of the amenity.

As of last week, however, I can no longer do that. Some genius up at the leasing office decided it would be a good idea to cover the entire fenced-in area with wood chips (you know, the type that's used for LANDSCAPING). Now you can't walk through the area without getting a splinter or two in your foot (even if you wear closed-toe shoes).

But the biggest problem is the fact that, to my dog, the new design is nothing short of a buffet. Just today, she got a long sliver stuck in her throat, which involved me pulling it out and taking her to the vet for safe measure. Even when she's not choking on the stuff, I'm constantly pulling wood chips out of her mouth.

Granted, I could just "keep an eye on her," but why should I have to' I moved into this place for the simple fact that I could let her loose in the fenced area, no worries. Add on to that the fact that there's hoodlums everywhere and lowsy security, and I see no reason to stay here.

Move into this complex only if you enjoy splitting headaches.

It's noisy as heck too! I've never lived in a place with so many punks. And the management could care less.

No kidding. I mean, I understand that goes with the territory of apartment living, but this place is RIDICULOUS! And no...the management doesn't give a rat's behind about it.
