According to the owner of the dog, if he'd not come back from work for lunch after walking his dog the morning of April 21, 2006, his dog would have died (vet conf.). The following flyer was posted by an anonymous tenant (we are scared by mgmnt.):
" If you walked your dog on the morning of April 21, please contact your vet regarding possible poisoning from a thick layer of an insecticide used on the property early that morning. (Hopefully the heavy rain has since washed it away.) Smaller dogs are especially affected; one especially tiny dog spent an entire day at the veterinarianâs and nearly died. Management was not forthcoming about any of this information and the dogâs owner spent a frantic day tracking it down. The dog is now OK. [The grounds company for Bass Lofts subcontracts.]
If your dog is listless, shows excess signs of fatigue, diarrhea, or has puss coming out of its eyes, please take it to the vet immediately.
If Bass Lofts Management can put a flyer in our doors for every little fluffy idea that floats through their brains, certainly they can expend the same energy ensuring that chemicals they had applied to the entire property do not harm our pets. This is deplorable. We should have been notified.
Most of us live here BECAUSE we have pets. "

Sounds like someone has a vendetta out for management......I walked my dog that same day, and my dog is fine...my dog is a big dog though....I really feel sorry for the small dog....hope he/she makes a quick recovery....I love living here.....I really love the area....Little Five Points is very cool and Virginia Highlands being close by is a big plus....Don't like it here then you should move maybe.....

Ah, the words of a couple of truly bitter hags. Longtime residents know exactly who these posters are. If ya hate the place so much, do us all a favor, and get the hell out! We’ve lived here over three years, and, outside of normal wear and tear, have never had a problem with our loft, the management is great, the super is great, and the neighbors, for the most part have always been great.
Our only complaint would be that the walls are too damn thin. That’s it.
Again, other than that, I can’t think of something I didn’t like about this place. The persons of that original post obviously have some serious issues that they don’t know how to deal with, and its something our leasing agents aren’t obligated to help with.
Bitter.
Again, pack your ----, and leave…there are plenty of places for you to move to and complain about.
And get a normal persons car! That piece of ---- truck is an eye sore!

FYI: Above not posted by us. We were never "scared" of management. [Another financially-oriented entry on this site was by us, and it has been ammended to reflect a correction by management that we appreciated.]
But since y'all insulted us anyway, I'll respond. We lived there 2-1/2 years, so the above assesment of us just hating the place is not accurate. And as for our "feelings about management" being a "problem with authority," it would never occur to us to view them as such. Management never had any grievances against us, not one. We were never written up for anything and one of us CREATED the library that now exists in the old building's lobby. The responders above fall into the homophobe category. By "hags" that guy means lesbians. If you are g a y or not a "normal person" as stated above, this is not the environment for you. The incident with the dog poisoning did happen--to another g a y tenant. Yes, people get emotional about their pets. Yes, y'all above, you did run off the last few g a y tenants. You did it. We moved. You can be very proud of that in your tiny world.
And I do mean tiny world. If a prospective tenant is coming from another state, especially someplace north or west, you'll find a lot of narrow thinking here. We thought that living in a loft complex in this supposedly hip part of town would mean cool, eclectic people. Not so, as illustrated above. They're very obsessed with "normal." L5P is NOT one of the best neighborhoods in Atlanta; it has some of the highest crime, including a racially motivated murder on Moreland. Maybe what they mean by "great" is that it's violently, defiantly "white." Most of the black people you'll find in this part of the city, a city that overall is 2/3's black, will be the homeless people who hang out on the front steps. It looks like the old south.

I'd like to echo that somebody obviously has an emotional issue or two that's spilled over to their feelings about the management...maybe problems with authority? Bass is a great place to live in one of the best neighborhoods in all of Atlanta. It happens to be the most "dog friendly" apartment complex I've ever seen, and the management is great, too. Like the above posting said, maybe somebody needs to move on to a different complex, or possibly find something else to complain about.
