Bennington Towers

like a Hotel, only better!! From: zrk235@yahoo.com Date posted: 8/11/2003 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003   Pros : Bennington Towers is probably the best choice I've made ever since I came to Atlanta 3 years ago. The apartment complex is like a hotel, only you live there for a long long time which makes it even better! The staff (concierge/maintenance) are extremely polite and helpful. The floors of all levels are very very clean and well maintained, the interior of the building is very beautiful on all floors. The lobby is very posh. The leasing office is very accessible and the people working there are cooperative. The apartments are terrific, carpeted, and very spacious for the price they go for in the location they're in (Buckhead). They seem to be sound-proof (cant hear any neighbors), and utilities are no problem at all. There are several accessories that come with the apartment, microwave, oven, fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc etc. Water and gas are free. Utility bills don't amount to too much, averaged me about $60 for POWER for the summertime when the AC was on (i also have a computer that is always on).. Parking is spacious, as a resident you get 3 spots (at least I did).. the amenities are the BEST i have seen for any highrise, there's a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, club room with billiards table, etc, etc. Also, this is big, its in the HEART of buckhead, so if you drive north after getting out of the gate, for about 3 minutes, you reach all the nightclubs, restaurants, etc etc.. 8 minutes you get to Lenox/Phipps etc.. Cons : There are only 3 elevators and I have noticed they take an abnormally long time to arrive sometimes. Maybe all 3 are not operational at all times, but I've been here since June 14, so thats almost 2 months, and I would have liked the elevators to be more efficient. Obviously the way they are programmed cannot be changed too easily, but if they could be inspected, that would be good, I have a feeling something in the program is wrong! Sometimes elevators going down from level 10 dont stop at level 7 if someone wants to go down from level 7 and is waiting in the hallway of the 7th floor.. i've noticed that.. i hear them go down.. okay maybe that problem is too specific for a general review! Also, I'm a college student and most of the people here are relatively middle-aged, so socially its not great, for example, im surrounded by a 30 something guy, a 50 something couple, and a 60 something lady.. as my neighbors in my hallway.. I'm 20.. so if you're young this isn't ideal for you socially unless you're into older people for some reason.. the night doorman is in general very.. uhh.. rested'.. it concerns me sometimes.. but then the door is locked so its not THAT bad.. and when its 3 am i dont blame them for being, um, rested! lastly, and this is the only thing I wish they would pay attention to.. there have been 3 "announcements" in the intercom ever since I have moved in here (thats 2 months).. I was asleep during 2 of them.. I'm just NOT USED to this kind of intrusion! Its not like there's a FIRE thats about to break out, I would like that intercom system to be used only in the event of a FIRE. They used it all three times for simple maintenance issues pertaining to water, a note at the door serves that purpose well, and ANNOUNCING it while people are potentially sleeping can be done away with.. I'm bored and on vacation so I have a lotta time for this review, im done, so MOVE IN already will ya!
