This place completely fits the bill of the title above. I have never seen this much gang violence and level of drug activity in any other residence that I have ever lived in. If you are coming from out of town and think Buckhead is a nice, safe, "white", part of Atlanta... FORGET IT! It has gone down the tubes just like every other area of Atlanta has since the new "black revolution" has occured.... simply unbelievable. Anyway, this place, which once started out as a nice Buckhead mid-rise for mostly old people, has now turned in to a loud, music pumping, drug ridden, violence inducing ghetto. There are at least two shootings per week, 3 or 4 rapes, and at least 2 to 3 stabbings in the breeze ways ..... seriously consider other apartment communites before making this mistake ..... 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

first of all, name a metropolis that doesn't have these things happen! Second, If you had any sense what so ever!!! I would think that would research "white communities" for a 'black revolution' FREE complex! I hope that your bigotry gets you as far as your own front door! I think the KKK is looking for a new leader, the ass (donkey) they appointed died recently, maybe you should move to further west to the state line, I beleive they have raised their standards just a bit, and now they are looking for dogs, chickens, and "white" bigots to interview for the position! if you won't take my advise on the KKK, then maybe you should move BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!! I don't recall the 'black revolution' EVER asking you to move here!!

This is ridiculous. I've lived at Bennington Towers for over 3 years, both as a single woman and now married with my husband and have never felt safer. All of the residents are incredibly nice, polite and courteous. The doormen/women are very kind and courteous to all residents and their guests and are particularly wary of uninvited visitors-- they always call you before they let anyone come upstairs and they have footage of all the cameras in the building that keep watch on the parking garages and the parking lots to ensure resident safety. I've never felt more safe.

i doubt that there is that kind of crime there...i lived in the darlington 5 years and that is the lowest rent place in buckhead and we had some crime, but nothing like what you say. A quick call to the local police information office will disprove your crime report. But i do believe buckhead has turned into trash compared to what it once was.

I haven't heard of anything like that happening, but I also think Bennington Towers sucks as far as "security" goes. Except for Aaron, the rest of the doorguys are creepy and have absolutely *NO* idea who lives here and always lets my guests up without stopping them. Also, the place is filthy and a rip off. Don't move here.

PAY ATTENTION MANAGEMENT: Feeling safe here is becoming a BIG ISSUE AGAIN. The front door staff ALL need replaced!!! The new ones REALLY suck!!! People are creeping through the parking gate when residents leave to gain entrance into the parking deck.
I haven't seen the parking deck camera actually face the gate in several months...why is that?
Why aren't all "guests" required to sign in and write down their drivers license #'s at the front desk. DO YOU CARE WHO IS BEING LET IN?
Also, why is the light blue Audi allowed to park up top everyday? That person is NOT very nice at all, and this has been going on for MONTHS!!!

I don't want to live in Atlanta anymore, and it sucks because I dreamed of living here for awhile. It's not safe. The only people who feel safe here are the people who have gotten used to this level crime. I think getting used to it is dangerous. It's so random that letting your guard down is never a good idea. I think the problem begins and ends with the police force. It reminds me of NYC in the 1970's--corrupt and racist. Maybe Atlanta will be a better city in decades to come, like New York, but it sucks to have live here during its learning curve. It's backward. I'm white, and I'm constantly "tested" by other white people here to see if I'll chime in with their racist complaints. I won't. I don't feel that way. Atlanta is 2/3's black. So it's easy for stupid racists to call it a black problem. The crime here is a result of lower middle and low income people getting squished out. They're desperate. It doesn't matter what color they are. Too much money came here too fast. Urban planning, anybody? No. Just grab and take as much as they can, and then those same people are surprised when a poor or homeless person tries the same thing at their level. We've lived in Atlanta for almost four years and have moved three times, always because of safety issues. I really don't where any of us can go.

I read all of this and think this is pretty wild...I have a relative that moved in when the place first opened so I have had 35 years of first-hand knowledge of what it was and what it has become...now, another member of my family is living there...it has been a real disappointment...for both of us...most of the security people at the desk ARE truly substandard and I agree, the only one that was worth anything was Aaron...he has gone now...but more than that, the fault for the "quality" of tennants (and I use that term loosely)is due to management or the lack thereof...they have let just about anything, and I mean ANYTHING into that building...this is not about race...it is about the level of people...they have rented to drug dealers, prostitution rings, theives and the list goes on...the desk staff do not always call before letting someone in...and as far as the police presence is concerned, I personally know of two incidents in the last two years where they were called and it was TWO HOURS before they arrived! The same holds true for the rescue squad...something about the zip code not showing up as correct for that building! Oh THAT makes ME feel more secure...the security cameras are NOT always working...much like their maintenace crews...getting repairs done in these apartments is like pulling teeth...management promises and does not deliver on that front...and the maintenance crew make continual excuses rather than take care of the very things they are paid to correct, that is unless you want to "pad their palms". For "the Office Staff" to tell you to "call if you need ANYTHING" is a joke...they do not enforce their own policies and care only about getting people to sign on the dotted line...it is NOT safe there...people living on the upper floors throw their garbage, cigarette butts, smut, condoms, dead plants and other such trash down below without a second thought...I heard about someone dropping a full beer can from around the 15th floor that exploded when it hit the ground...this is no laughing matter...it could have killed someone...I know of SEVERAL people living on the bottom floor complaining about this and "management" has done absolutely nothing...just recently a man was found dead in his car in the parking lot...and we are not talking natural causes here...just this evening, a young woman died because she fell, was pushed or jumped from the 14th floor...it is still under investigation as to what actually happened...I was there when it occured...an elderly woman on the third floor was attacked and left bleeding in the hallway about 5 years ago...another incident of someone being attacked happened in the lower parking deck 3 years ago...loud parties, loud music, and a total lack of respect for other people seems to be the watch-word in this place...these are the kind of neighbors you will get there...some people ARE very nice there, but there is also an uncontrolled "element" living in there that represents real danger! But don't worry...they don't allow dogs, cats, birds or wind chimes...doesn't that make one feel better...you might get murdered, but you won't be bothered by bird seed, fleas or the "annoying sound of chimes"...
Bennington Towers was just recently bought by another management company and is in the process of rennovation...something that is years over due.
I have no faith that it will be brought up to where it was or should be but I have absolutely no doubt that the already over-priced rent will be raised to pay for the very things that should have been taken care of years ago...If you are going to pay that kind of money for those decaying ruins, I suggest you look around a bit more...your money and your life would be better served at another location.
