On 7/02/2008, at approximately 8:30pm, I parked my truck on the second level of the parking deck at Berkeley Heights Apartments. I returned to my vehicle on 7/03/2008 at 5:50am. Upon returning to my vehicle I discovered the door handle had been pried away from the door. My truck had been entered and searched by someone. Nothing was taken, however, the truck s contents were strewn about inside. I notified the authorities immediately. I also made a temporary sign requesting tips on the perpetrator. The sign I posted above the scene of crime may have helped stop this individual from striking again. Unfortunately, the property manager can t allow it to be there. I now hope that any witnesses to this crime will step forward to report its occurrence. While there may not have appeared to be an illegal entry taking place, I am hopeful that someone in the parking facility at the time of the break-in will be able to provide more information. Witnesses may have thought that the perpetrator was simply exiting or entering his (own) vehicle.
