I'm not sure how most of the others really feel about apartment living, but this is my experience. I had the fortune of staying at Berkeley Run while attending classes for certification. I enjoyed having a 7 minute commute to school. Yes, the rent was high, but, I figured in Buckhead, where else can you get a $1100 apt for $760, which was what I was paying at the time. Of course, rent went up at renewal time, so I was forced to move, since anything pushing the $800 mark is..in my mind...a mortgage payment.

I unfortunately moved to Plantaion Ridge up on 75. All I can say is ...I miss Berkeley Run. I would scrounge and save just to move back if possible. The place I am at now is almost bottom of the barrel as far as apts. Though I've heard of worse. I guess for me, I spoiled myself by living in an area I enjoyed, loving the commute to and from work and school, and having a top floor apt with vaulted ceilings. The trade off I have now is cheap rent, but you get what you pay for. And what I'm paying for is loud neighbors feeling the need to have arguments at 3 a.m. in the breeze way every night. (My apt does not have adequate insulation, thus I get the joy of hearing all this). The washer/dryer set up was connected somehow to my downstairs neighbors, and had backflow all the time. Which explained the paint peeling in the laundry and kitchen are due to excessive heat and moisture. The list goes on...but, short and sweet....I miss Berkeley Run. I definately have a great appreciation for what a nice living environment and great living space is. I am making due with where I currently live just long enough to pay off a student loan. It shows me what I can put up with though.......so...guess that is a plus maybe.
