I just got done with a 6 month lease at The Standard. First off, the location is great, being close to Lenox and right next to Lenox Park, but without too much traffic. The apartments themselves are a bit older, but that didnt bother me a bit. The only problems we had that can really be attributed to management was that our AC really was worthless. We called and had maintenance come out to fix it 2 or 3 times and they actually tried to fix it but couldnt so we just gave up. If we had been there all summer that would have been a major problem. All other problems were due to the other tenants. A lot of sketchy people would hang around that place, especially at night. We never had any car breakins or problems with theft, but there were many times where people had late-night "confrontations" in the parking lot that I was sure would soon involve gun shots, but it never did. Other than a few occasions like that, I never really felt unsafe, but I would never let my girlfriend live there alone. Also, parking was a problem. People just parked wherever they wanted whenever they wanted. I can understand if its late at night and there are no spots so you park (close) to the curb, but people just didnt seem to care.
