It was okay to me....gosh!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
Okay....first off let me start by saying my full name is Walter John Whitehead. I stayed in apt. number 1119 from December 2006 to January 2007 (it was a three month lease that ended in February, don't worry I left early because I was leaving the country to study abroad, not for any other reason.). I AM NOT MANAGEMENT.
I seriously thought my experience at The Standard was koo.....
Agreed: Yes it is GORGEOUS on the outside!!! The location is absolutely perfect!! and....well....that's pretty much it.
Disagree: The staff was always pretty koo with me, my car was never broken into- First I owned a car no one in their right mind would break into, then I purchased a Mercedes E320 and still no problems. I never saw feces in the hallways...omg, never. Never heard loud music, seen fights, etc. And no I didn't have covered parking but the parking was koo...I ALWAYS had my SAME spot available ALL the time.
To be quite honest, after reading the majority of these bad reviews I was shocked and sincerely wondering did we all stay in the same location. A part of me believe that someone had a problem with management and wrote a bunch of negative "Anonymous" reviews to get back or something.... I mean once, I had a problem- My garbage disposal jus' literally FELL CLEAN OFF...jus' randomly (while a friend was running the water- how embarrassing, right'). but the very next day I called to have it fixed and when I got back to my apartment it was fixed. NO problem :)
some complaints I do agree with: Although I never seen feces in the Hallways...OMG I did smell feces at times. Wet nasty dog smells and urine almost 3times a week would linger in the Hallways. And yes, when I had company over it was embarrassing at times. Yes, some stairwells did need to be clean, but I found one that was pretty decent. Oh, and while a resident Berkshire was taking over and that renovation staff would be working real early in the morning, so it got a little noisy. On one occasion they had "the wrong room" and literally just OPENED my door...luckily I was right there standing in the kitchen to let them know...God that was sketchy. Oh, and another thing, I didn't like was more than once, I would have notes on my door with letters from management saying that I literally owed nickles and dimes- okay seriously like $20.00 or 60 bucks. BUT OMG!! were did some random bill come from' Every time I paid, I was ask is EVERY KOO, and they would say yes....then in a few weeks, ANOTHER ODD NOTE....that was weird. Oh, and when I asked where did the cost come from, NO ONE SEEMED TO KNOW'.....yeah....real weird. But it was bearable.
Pretty much my ONLY complaint would be the pets....it was HORRIBLE. I literally couldn't stand them. Almost always upon leaving or entering my room I encountered a tenant trying to control their dog from jumping on me...I always just smiled and pretended it was cute...GOD THAT GOT OLD.
When I return from overseas in June 2007, I'm coming back to the Standard. It was overall a wonderful living experience. of course minus the dogs.
PS for Christmas, Management sent me a Christmas card :-P
