Please don't be mislead by thinking that only the unhappy people write the reviews, therefore bringing down the score of the apartment complex. I was fully prepared to write a good review of my experience when I first moved in. I've been here 2 months and that has since changed drastically. Even though when I was supposed to move in on a certain date, my apartment wasn't available, and they had no clickers for the garage, I just assumed it was one of those things and that nothing else would really happen. Boy, was I wrong.
Let me start out by saying, I moved here from a 300 sq. foot apartment in Boston that was a 6th floor walk up with absolutely no AC whatsoever, that was so old it still had lead paint and was sinking on one side. It cost $1400 a month, and was a block from one of the colleges. I thought that, along with the street parking was a headache, that is, until I moved here.
At first, I was thinking that this was a pleasant change from NE, especially since the apartments were all renovated and because I had purchased the garage parking to avoid overcrowded lots (and to keep my car from getting beat all to hell). In the first 3 days I lived there, I was hit THREE times. Over half the time, I can't even park in my spot because the gates are never closed and anyone can roll up and park there. This leads to my next point: due to the garage always being open, it's become quite the party central, with a gang of guys and loud chirpy girls hanging out down there, blaring music that you could hear clear to TEXAS, and screaming at 4 am during the week. All of the old appliances are piled in the parking garage, and a lot of them are situated so that you can barely squeeze by without taking out one of the large concrete cars or a refidgerator, if not both.
Heed the advice of everyone who has said that the pets are a problem. My building sounds like a freakin' kennel, and do I even need to mention the stairwells caked with dog excrement' It's even smeared on the DOOR, and has never been cleaned up, and there's pee all over the walls and in the elevator floors usually.
My heat has never worked, and my fire alarm in my apartment just randomly goes off. I don't know if it's from the people smoking in the halls and in their apartments, but it goes off at least 4 times a week. The renovations are the most piss-poor job I have ever seen. My cabinet doors in my kitchen have all fell off, there's some sort of metal tacked to the wall that is supposedly a splatter screen, and none of my appliances worked when I originally moved in. (And I was the first person to live in this apartment since it was renovated). For some reason, when you preheat the oven, it heats up the burners as well, and occasionally starts to smoke, even though there's nothing spilled down in the burners to be causing it.
The elevator likes to deadfall from the 2nd or 3rd floor to the parking deck, leaving you trapped inside (it happened to me twice). I called it in both times, and they don't even bother to acknowledge it, much less repair it.
Management is rude, incompetent, and utterly clueless. No matter what issues arise, it's always your fault, and they refuse to work with you. Even if you go in there in person, they would rather sit around and play on facebook than acknowledge you. I called them the first few times issues arose, like the cabinet doors, elevator, the oven, etc., and they were so inconsiderate that I stopped bothering. They're also very inept at keeping up with things (rent check, even though it mysteriously clears in your account...., packages, the larger the better, guaranteed to "lose" it, your leasing agreement). It may as well be run by a pack of monkeys, but I also may be giving them too much credit because I'm sure monkeys could do a damn better job than those morons. Darwin would have had a field day with that bunch.
The utter last straw came last night when 3 of my friends were held at gunpoint and robbed randomly. I'm over it, and I'm glad that I only signed a 6 month lease. Now I won't feel so bad when I break it after only 2 months. As far as I'm concerned, the $ spent breaking my lease will be $ well spent to get out of this trash hole.

I would like to see the police report as well. You are correct about the dog ---- all over the sidewalk. That is really annoying. I think its some blonde chick. How hard is it to clean up after your dog? Lazy tenants. I haven't had any issues with appliances or heating or cooling..everything is fine and management has been nice to me. My only annoyance is the dog crap from the pet owners. I don't hear the partiers because I'm farther inside the 3000 building.

Ummm...my AC AND heat broke in the same month as well as my brand new dish washer, TWICE. This place is obserd and if the holding people at gunpoint and robbed is true I will be more than happy to move out considering the kidnapping and dead body found in the 6 months that I have lived here.
