It makes me sad to see so many people complaining. I have read so many complaints on the pages of this website. Not only complaints about the apartments where I live, but it seems consistent that most of the apartments on this website receive more criticism than compliments. I have thought about this and have come to the conclusion that "unhappy" people will go out of their way to find a website to complain on. Evidently, "happy" people are not as likely to seek out a place to make gracious remarks about their "happiness" with where they live. If your happy, what's the point of seeking a place to make good comments, am I Right' Do you think that all the happy people at an apartment complex are going to stumble across this website and say, "Oh, I want to make a comment here'!!) It follows the same path of how much easier it is for a person to criticize another instead giving a compliment.
If your hung up on all the negatives with reading this site, you may want to drive to the properties your thinking about and take a look for yourself.
When you have 300 apartments (or whatever the number is) like Lenox does, there's bound to be a complaint or two.
-------------Now for my review --------------
Berkshires at Lenox is the best place I've lived in the past 15 years. I love it here. I don't plan on moving anytime soon, either.
My apartment was just renovated and it feels like a new custom home. I met the guys that did the renovating, and they are always as nice as can be when I talk to them. I can tell you that they take pride in the work that they are doing. They are renovating all the apartments, and I was told they are almost finished. I have new granite countertops, new paint, nice stainless appliances, new carpet, and wood floors in the kitchen and bath. I used my gas fireplace for the first time a couple nights ago, and it was great. When I'm gone from the apartment for a few days and come back home I realize that it still smells new inside (you don't realize it until you leave for a few days - odd but true).
In all honesty, they should have named it Berkshires at Convenience Park. It's within 5 minutes of everything under the sun - Lenox Mall, downtown, hundreds of restaurants, shops, and a ton of other stuff. This has saved me so much time.
Lenox Park is practically part of my back yard. It makes me feel like I have my own personal city park! The trail around the park is awesome. It is probably about a mile loop, and I use it for walking/ jogging. It follows a lake and creek and is gorgeous. It's also nice to head to the park to relax on a blanket or relieve some stress.
If I want to exercise on rainy days, I go to the fitness room next to the office and use the treadmills or ellipticals (which are cool - you get your own personal Plasma TV on your machine).
I saw a few complaints about parking. I pay a few dollars extra a month and have a space in the garage next to my elevator (the elevators are great). I've only had someone park in my space 1 time, and they apologized for it.
Another thing I like is the community functions. I have met most of my neighbors, and they are much nicer than I expected in an apartment community. It makes it feel like community.
I have had very minor problems (which were taken care of quickly). The only 2 problems that I have had in 9 months that I've lived here was my toilet handle breaking, and a lightbulb blowing out in the kitchen. On both occasions, it was fixed the same day that I called it in. The guys that did the repairs were courteous and friendly both times.
The office staff is always friendly.
I feel safe here.
Simply put, it feels like home.

WoW!!! LoL....This was OBVIOUSLY written by someone in the management office. I can assure you that I tell it like it is. This previous opinion is definately not from a resident. It's actually quite disgusting how slack the managment staff is. It would be such a nice place to live if there was a management team that actually cares. And you talk about the maitenence team is so good. Yeah right...Can you believe that the maintainence staff left the office copy of my mailbox keys and apartment keys in my actuall apartment lock. Anyone could have entered my apartment at any time with those keys. Luckily, I got home from work early and found them there. Can you believe I held onto those keys and they never actually realized they were missing. How safe.

Thats so funny I have lived In the Berkshires for 6mths and it has been absolute HELL. I Have Never had problems like the ones Ive had here anywhere else. The first thing I though while reading this review was WOW this MUST be Vicki(AKA the worst/most incompetant property manager EVER!!! She goes right along with the rest of the completly incompetant,RUDE,inconsiderate Joke of a staff that ruins these apartments!
I'll start at the beginning...1st my apartment was given away 4 times in two months before I was able to move in even though I had already signed a lease for a specific apt., Aparently they don't consider a lease a legally binding contract but I bet if I wanted to leave they would hold me to my part of the contract.By the time I moved in I wasnt even sure where I was going to be and ended up being given an apartment with a fireplace that eats up all the extra space in my living room even though I specifically ask and was promised the 1 bedroom floorplan with extra wall space instead of a fireplace. Good thing I hadnt purchased the couch I was planning on buying yet or it wouldnt have even fit! Also, I was promised a storage unit which of course they didnt have and I was out of pocket an unexpected $200 for an offsite storage unit that I was able to find the day of my move in!
So, now that I've moved in let me tell you about my "living" experience at The Berkshires at Lenox Park.
To start when we were brought to our apt by the incompetant office staff we realized it was the wrong floor plan, it was still dirty, the renovations wernt complete, we had no cook top, no thermostat, the toilet seat was broken, the bathroom had mold in it and no ceiling fan(whick took us 3 mths to finally get someone to put in)...,Then since living here I've had a roach, ant, and spider problem. The exterminator they sent out was such a joke we had to start treating the problem ourselves. All he did was spray this big thing of poison all over our carpet and laminate(not real hardwood) floors and left it there. It was sticky and looked horrible and honestly I wasnt even sure if it was safe to leave it there. What if a child or an animal ingested that right off the carpet! mY air conditioner leaks which has buckled the laminate floors and put water stains down my wall and ceiling. When the maintnance guy came out after a week of complaining he actually told me himself that it was because the apartments refuse to replace the 20year old air conditioner units in each apartment...so I guess a "fully renovated" apartment your promised when you move in only means the esthetic features like paint and counter tops not the pipes of airconditioner units that Desperatly need to be replaced! I also have neighbors whose ceilings have completly collapsed and one of them couldnt get anyone in the front office or maintenance staff to even call them back for a WEEK when her apt was FLOODING! Theres an emergency maintenance number that ur supposed to call when your locked out and my neighbor last week called and left multiple messages bc she was locked out in the COLD and noone called her back for 4 HOURS and by then she had just gotten in on her own...Whats the point in an emergency line if noone calls you back! As far as the parking goes thats a joke. They don't have enough spaces for the residents so we have to pay $20 a mth for "Covered, Secured" parking in the parking deck. Well thats a joke too. The gate is ALWAYS either left open because its broken or because the lazy maintenance people leave it open all day(which is not safe or secure).I had a neighbor that was followed by an angry man that had cut her off down the street right into the parking deck and pulled up behind her threatening her. What if that man had killed her or kidnapped her? Maybe then the apartments would fix the gate and leave it closed! People are ALWAYS parking in the reserved spaces and when you call the tow truck number provided to you they have to call the apt staff and get permission to tow the damn car that is parked in the space u pay to park in...So that leads to another issue when the tow company calls for approval NOONE EVER calls them back so they wont come tow the car. My boyfriend had a leaky pipe over his car that was pouring on his nice car every night. When he ask to have it fixed the maint. guy said it was no problem but he had to turn in a work order to the apt people first so of course it was never ever fixed and still leaks today so after a mth of complaining they gave him a new spot instead of ever fixing the simple problem. The problems just are neverending and its sad because I love the location and the floorplans of the apartments and they are pretty affordible but the staff makes it not worth it. I wish we could stay here bc the staff is the ONLY problem with this but they are so incompetant that it ruins living here. From now on we go strait to corporate with our problems and if it doesnt stop soon we move out and tell everyone we know and care about at all to NEVER live here. I've never complained once at any of the last 4 apartments I've lived in all over GA and I cant even remember half of the problems I've had to complain about most of which were never fixed! But they sure can find time to have the staff call every single resident and leave them a happy Thanksgiving message when my neighbors apt has been flooding for a week and they havent even called her back yet...You decide Yourself if this is even a chance your willing to take!
