I worked at Block Lofts since its opening and I can personally tell you that everything the Staff had was put into this place. We bent over BACKWARDS for residents, and LOVED EVERY SECOND of it. Block Loft residents were the best, and it was not our choice to move on.....the place was sold and we had no say. It was very difficult reading some of these reviews, and, quite honestly, 98% of the residents we personally moved in told us they were happy and loved the place. Come on folks...Block Lofts is built fine, and in a perfect location. We used the SAME qualifying criteria for each of you, so drop that mess. If residents choose to allow tailgaters and sketchy friends to come in thru the gates, that is YOUR business. It is YOUR home, not ours. I cannot believe the accusations thrown at staff when we honestly tried our best to meet the needs of our residents. I personally took tremendous ownership in this property and counted it an honor to service our residents needs. Security cannot and never WILL be guaranteed....ANYWHERE. It was made clear to you when you moved in. Those gates are NOT security gates..they are "controlled access gates". Our courtesy officers were just that....NOT security officers. We were sick to our stomaches with each horrible break-in and do not deserve the callous remarks made on this site. I just wish the other 98% could find this arena and make their positive comments. It would be more fair. The staff that moved you in took great pride in being at Block Lofts and we regretted the fact that many letters and newsletters had to be spent "hounding" folks about their noise, dog waste, and pet leash violations. I would much rather focus on positive things....but we were responding to RESIDENTS requests. Say what you want, but I know the truth.
We hope Gables is taking excellent care of you.

Why not give your name if you were such a good employee?

My review does not in any way talk about what a "good employee I was". You have missed it entirely. Try reading slower and being less critical. The review clearly states how the employees tried their best and hated to lose this property.

I find this response from this old Block Lofts employee to be quite sad but typical for the industry. Being a resident here I will say this, that if the rent was a couple hundred less dollars a month one could make an argument about the place being a good value. That is not the case. Though the superficial aspects of the appartments are nice, the noise control is bad because of the construction of the units. Though I can agree that the place does not claim to guarantee ones security, I think that this former employee is missing the point. This place is charging a premium price. Along with tha comes an expectation of certain things including ones safety and security. One is given the impression with the security gate etc. that the units are safe and that this reduces crime. However, that was not the case. In fact most of the crime happened during the day right under the staff's nose. So what do you expect. If your managing company had taken care of some basics (like installed metal threshholds for the main doors instead of pine ones that could be kicked down by a 10 year old), or chosen to hire a patrol officer, or had actually done something from the beginning to better qualify it's renters people wouldn't have found it neccessary to make these comments. As for the other comments about complaints etc., the wording of some of the notices were very strong and definitely over the top at times. Now I will simply say this. 50% of the letters would not have been neccessary if the construction of the units was such that it better insulated for sound. Unfortunately though, it didn't and we have an individual that used to work for them that has obviously had a drink from the RAM corporate Koolaide. |

I have to step in on this --------. Having worked in this industry previously do you even realize that RAM is a management company and not owners or construction company????? They have nothing to do how a product is built they are merely being asked to manage a property for the individual company that ones it. For the employee's response above good for that person because you people just -----!!!!

If you worked with RAM from the opening, I doubt anyone is talking about how RAM managed the place... I have read nothing but good things about RAM and how they ran the property. Even through the course of the break-ins, the RAM staff did their best and understood the predicament of residents. Most people here have had a decline in their experience here since RAM left and no, Gables is not doing a good job and never has.
