There were / are some good things about this place...

they look really nice...the maintenance staff is great (many continue here from the RAM days)''' the memories of RAM running the place are great ones, including the old quality of the tenants; also there are not many children.

RAM was TRULY a great management company as they were friendly, polite, cared, and too bad they left as they were part of the reason that I signed here! Gables has only added to the continued decline.

I was one of the first tenants to sign here BTW''' OK now on to the current and ongoing issues that SHOULD definitely keep you from living here or at least dispel your hopes that the negativity in the reviews is over embellished.

If you want the bonus of having neighbors that are increasingly young, disrespectful, inconsiderate, uneducated, and ill mannered, this place is for you.

If you want to live with all the thugs and drug dealers that can't afford to live at 12, this place is for you.

If you like to live in a development where the construction allows you to hear each and every time that your neighbors shut their cupboard doors or take a step, then this is the place for you.

If you like a complex that does not enforce the rules of picking up after your dog, not parking in reserved spaces, lack of concern for the quality / socioeconomic level of the clientele, the crime, or how rudely they treat you as their customer, then this place is for you.

If you like waiting for a return call from the "on site security" forever or even many hours after the time you needed them, then this place is for you.

If you like a complex where your car (like mine) can be hit twice within the span of a year by drivers in the parking deck who are not functioning with a conscience enough to leave a note, then this place is for you.

Your insurance company will love you.

By the way, there is only one camera in the complex and that is so they can see the front of the car that runs through the gate''' no not the license place''' the front.

If you like a complex where the pool is useless because every other tenant brings 20 of their best friends to lounge in the pool every weekend or to engage in sex in the pool, this place is for you.

If you want to live among a criminal element, with numerous break-ins and thefts...

a sexual assault (just got notice today of this), a drug overdose (the guy died in the apartment then was robbed by the people he was doing drugs with), then this place is for you.

In other words, what started out as a great place to live has become a place where you are afraid to leave home for one reason or another as the list of reasons continues to grow.

Anyone who has renewed their lease from RAM was not expected to pay the rent requested of first time renters.

In other words, they could not fill the units after RAM left so they had to make concessions.

I currently pay 25$ over my construction bonus rent which was 400$ less than the full rent.

Even with the discounted rent provides no incentive to stay here.

Currently my friends are refusing to visit me at Block Lofts until I move into my new place out of concern for their vehicles and safety''' The response from Gables to the problems here is that, '''no one can ensure your safety''', which is stated repeatedly in all of their notices of criminal activity or when you approach them in the office with your concerns.

There has been a lot of broken glass (from an alcohol bottle someone threw at a wall) in the parking deck for two weeks.
